We have just returned from a week in the Sun, and it could not have been better value than at Marino Tenerife.
We booked a one bedroom apartment which was spacious, clean, had everything you needed, including two balconies facing the Sun. Even the bathroom had twin washbasins.
We were located overlooking the restuarant and pool, but noise was never a problem. But remember it is January, and like us the clientel was on the mature side.
It has a large swimming pool, pleasent restuarant with good food, and the supermarket is well stocked
Location is quiet within a residential area next to the rocky coastline with paths to walk. Playa de las Americas is a 25 min bus ride at a cost of less than 5 euros for two.
Costa del Selencio has a small shopping area with a number of small cafe/restuarants

Room Tip: Studio apartments do not have as much Sun during the day (JAN). Pay the extra for a 1 bed apartment and make sure it overlooks the pool

My husband and I stayed at Marino in November 2012 for his birthday. Although there was some construction work going we still had a fab time. Look out for a very special welcome at Cath's Corner, wonderful food and Cath and Don made us feel as though we were family. Will definately be going back to both hotel and Cath's Corner.

I stayed in Costa del Silencio in the Marino Hotel with my partner and our 11 month old son from 11th to the 18th of January 2013. We were delighted at the standard of cleanliness in this hotel. Our apartment, 312, was very nice although we did not have a good sea view we were happy with the large spacious apartment. The washing machine in our apartment statred leaking on around day 3 of our holiday. I reported this to reception and within minutes 2 technicans arrived and after failing to fix the problem they replaced the machine with a brand new one. We were very impressed with the efficiency of the staff in the hotel, we found everyone pleasant and helpful.
We loved the quietness of Silencio and we enjoyed strolling around finding nice places to eat, of which there were many. Notable, the Chicken Shack which did a fantastic lasange, roast chicken and steak. Neil's Bistro is also definitely worth a visit as you are sure to receive a warm welcome, good food with a homemade feel in a relaxed environment. Neil himself is a lovely person and looked after us and our son very well...thanks for the peas Neil!!
We plan on returning to Silencio and the Marino again, hopefully early next year, as we thoroughly enjoyed our quiet, relaxing break there.

We were not disappointed by the Marino Hotel in any way. Staff on reception were outstandingly helpful and polite. The whole place was well looked after and our 1 bedroom self catering apartment was newly decorated and well appointed. The solarium was out of bounds due to refurbishment but will re-open in a couple of weeks. The pool was excellent and very clean. Tenerife is not noted for its beaches, but the coast is walking distance from the hotel. Well marked paths give walkers and strollers ample opportunity to explore the beautiful coastline.
We would have taken a pair of scissors, washing machine tablets, salt and pepper, pan cleaner and a tea towel had we known that they were not provided, but no big deal! We will stay there again in the not too distant future!

Room Tip: Our room was North facing. Would have preferred the South facing ones in January!

We stayed for 10 days at the beginning of January, we chose the hotel because of previous reviews by other people and were pleasantly surprised. We were very pleased with the room even though we had twin beds (we remedied that by pushing them together). We had a room on the right hand side as you come out of reception and this was really good because it never got Sun and therefore was cool on an evening. The rooms are functional and clean. We didn't really use the facilities at the hotel because we were out and about on excursions but we did go in the bar a couple of times. The hotel is lovely and quiet which is what we were looking for. If you want night life then you need to got out of the hotel and have a wander round the area. We have nothing bad to say about this hotel and will definitely be going back there very soon. It's value for money, if you're looking for 5 star then this is not for you. P.S. ladies take a hairdryer.. the one in the room is like a hand dryer with a nozzle.

Room Tip: I would recommend room 244, quiet, cooler side of the hotel.
