My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Palia Don Pedro for one week for an "after Christmas" break.
The hotel was twenty minutes away from the airport. We went on an "all inclusive" basis.
When we arrived we were greeted by a polite lady who soon sorted out our room for us.
As stated here before, the rooms are basic, a few cracks here and there but extremely clean. No air conditioning in our room only a ceiling fan so I would imagine it would get quite uncomfortable in the summer months. As my wife has a back problem, she found her single bed a little uncomfortable but it was made better by the staff putting another mattress on top of the original one. The room staff are second to none and go out of their way to help you.Bed linen was changed twice during our stay and loo rolls etc. were stocked up daily. All the grounds are kept clean and tidy by various groundsmen and the swimming pool is clean and tidy too with a lifeguard in attendance at all times during the pool's opening times. We didn't go in as it seemed a little on the cool side for us but quite a few did and they seemed to enjoy it !
The food was excellent, catering for everyone. Always a freshly cooked meat, (pork, chicken, steak etc.) being done on the grill along with fish....My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Palia Don Pedro for one week for an "after Christmas" break.

The food was excellent, catering for everyone. Always a freshly cooked meat, (pork, chicken, steak etc.) being done on the grill along with fish. All items were regularly topped up too. The beer was good (San Miguel I think), and the spirits were the usual less alcoholic type of gins, whisky "Malibou" etc. but you could pay for the better brands if you wish.
The "Animación" staff were amazing ! The best that I have ever met. the four regulars constantly amused all age groups relentlessly. You were asked to join in but they were never pushy. They are a real credit to the hotel ! We also met some great people there who joined in the activities alongside us and this added to a good experience too.
If you want a change of scenery, get the bus to Los Christianos for a nice stroll and a beer. Turn left out of the hotel then left again. Walk about 150 metres and the bus stop is on the other side of the road. It takes about 30 minutes.
If you turn right out of the hotel, a 10 minute walk will get you to a couple of bars and restaurants.
After reading a few negative reviews we went there with a little trepidation but we were soon won over by the place. It is only a "3 star" hotel so if you go there keeping that in mind then you will have a great time but if you expect all the bells and whistles of a 5 star accommodation then look elsewhere.
So, would I go there again ? ...Yes! But the hotel really could do with a little "TLC". If this were to happen then it would make a good, value for money hotel into a great one.More
