Booked for a business trip to Penang, Was recommended this hotel due to the location is near to the airport. Check in was smooth and reception was really friendly. Everything was good and smooth.
The room is clean and I was given a corner room which has no block view and you can be really amazed by the view of the city.
Everything was fine till the housekeeper just opened the door without ringing the door bell while i was in the room. I had the shock of my life! I shouted so loud that I think I scared the housekeeper away.
The staff told me that he wanted to do some maintenance when i confronted him how could he just came in without even ringing the bell while he should have known that there is guest inside the room. He apologized and left without doing any maintenance.
I don think he did that intentionally, guess he was just did not notice that there are guest in that room. I think this is the poor communication between the mgmt and the staff,
It was unfortunate that I will not be going back to this hotel again.

I stayed for 3 nights with 2 kids below 5. Overall this hotel was great. Great:
1. view (premier deluxe)
2. place (nearby shopping mall, clinics, food restaurants)

Except for the swimming pool. I think too small and kids pool were not interesting.. have little space. Restaurant was okay and foods are delicious especially desert. This hotel provide mineral water tank so that you don't have to request single plastic bottle.

Location:

Located in Bayan Lepas which is slightly away from the usual tourist places. Fear not, most of the places of interest is just a Grab away! However there is abundance of food choices within walking distance. Pisa Food corner 5 minutes away is a great place for hawker food at very reasonable prices. There are also abundance restaurant serving various type of food within walking distance. Syed Bistro which operates 24 hours will also satisfy your late nite cravings for mamak food and nasi kandar.

Front counter:

Check in and check out was excellent. Quick and efficient. A quick shoutout to Justin.
Smiles were all around from the concierge to the front office and house keeping staff. Double thumbs up!!

Room:

Stayed in the deluxe king. Request for a high floor was promptly done. Corridors are adequately lit and despite keeping the aircon to the minimal, the corridors were not stuffy at all. Although the hotel was fully booked during my stay, the lifts were fast and there was hardly any delay in moving from the high floor to the lobby.

Room size was adequate. Deco was minimal but the room was very cosy and inviting. Cleanliness was good. The bathroom was averaged sized with a separate shower cubicle.

Bathroom amenities were the usual and was replenished daily. The drinking water dispenser and two wastepaper baskets were great addition to the no plastic cause.

The bed was firm and comfortable.Linen was clean and crisp but the blankets felt very thin and not plush. Pillows were also too soft for my comfort. Lighting was adequate and windows allowed good natural lighting.

Facilities:

Adequate facilities that you would expect from a 4 stars establishment. The pool is adequate for a short dip and the gym is open from 5am to 12 midnight.

Food:

Food is good with some nice varieties. However I would suggest that you venture to the surrounding restaurants for food that Penang is well known for. As it is the durian season, a durian stall manned by a very nice old couple is just a few steps from the hotel. However as with almost all hotels, the fruit is not allowed to be brought in to their premises.

The hotel do provide regular shuttle services to Georgetown and Queensbay Mall as well as the Penang Airport.

Overall a great 4 star establishment and will definitely be in my hotel to revisit for my trips to Penang in the future. Keep it up. Also kudos to the hotel's efforts to minimize plastic and to the recycle and reused cause.
