“Excellent get-away from Mexico City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2012

We traveled here for a wedding and despite a hidden and nondescript front entrance this hotel is breath-taking. We spent the better part of two days just exploring the hotel grounds. The nearby village is also quaint and worth walking around. There are grocery stores and some food vendors in the village in addition to those offered by the hotel. The breakfast buffet at the hotel is outstanding. The food on the room service menu is pretty good as well, but maybe overpriced. The rooms are nice with refrigerator, tv, a/c, and impressive architectural features. The pools are beautiful. The main pool is a bit too cold for swimming in the winter time, but the small pool is a little warmer. The kiddy pool looks like fun, but a little too cold to play in. It's currently under renovation, but they do a good job keeping the noise and dust down. Highly recommended for a weekend trip or romantic getaway.

Fantastic place! Very charming atmosphere all around the hotel; an historical semi destroyed sugar mill. Good service and food. The only problem I noticed was the quality of the beds.

Loved the Hacienda, we where there for a wedding its an amazing frame for such event. As a hotel is just OK, there where so many downsides to overview them. The room: You can hear everything going on outside, if you are a light sleeper you would definetly will complain about it, the shower curtain was old and had mold. Lunch and breakfast, stick to the buffet, for lunch we order from the menu, the service was slow and not so good for example my husband´s pasta was overcooked. On the other side the sunday morning buffet was perfect, you could find from a cold appetizers to a nice "barbacoa" tacos. I not sure I´ll come back since it was overpriced.

This hotel is a lovely get-away if you're looking to say on site and rest. There is very little else to do as the hotel is hidden away and actually a little difficult to find. To be fair, we were told the hotel was only recently acquired by the Fiesta American chain and it under remodeling. The extensive grounds are well taken care of and the architecture is colonial - hacienda like. There is a pool but at the time we were there it was not heated. Beautiful views however. The food was average, and not a great variety, but the staff was willing to please and very kind. The rooms are large with high ceilings, although we found ours to be dark, and being right next to an events room, a little too noisy. There are many new rooms under construction so the hotel might be quite different within a few months. Can't emphasize the helpfulness of the staff - and kudos to Jessica who made sure we were very well taken care of. Relax and enjoy the beautiful flowers and trees.

Room Tip: Room number 3 is right next to an events room so it is noisy.

Service service service is most definitely not priority at this otherwise wonderful hotel set in a former Mexican sugar cane hacienda in the State of Morelos.

Let's start by the location. The Hacienda is close to Mexico City on the Carretera del Sol, the highway leading to Acapulco, just minutes away from the eternal spring city of Cuernavaca. Hacienda San Antonio El Puente is quite easy to find and offers its guests a parking area that is included in the price of the room.

Everything else is not included, or not as promised and this is the actual problem at this Hotel.

Nothing is included though they seem to pretend it is. Everything promised upon reservation turns out was not included and represents a surcharge.

The service is not at par with the service the Mexican tourism industry is known for and loved.

It seemed no one was in charge and the staff was either new or untrained. No one had the power to make things happen and to solve guests queries in an satisfactory manner.

Bar and restaurant service around the pool is not poor, it's inexistant and so slow the hang over has time to set in between each drink.

It is not a bad hotel, nor a bad location. Not at all. It's actually very pretty. It unfortunately needs management changes, staff training and the owners need to be reminded of a small but oh so important equation of quality/price ratio which is totally lacking at San Antonio El Puente. The service plus in a 5 star hotel is paid in the high fee of reservation, not every time you get a smile. You leave feeling like you got ripped off. Like you paid for a 5 star hotel room and every extra towel was charged, every soap was counted and the service was provided drop by drop.

Unfortunately, I will not be recommending this hotel nor will I be going back. I felt it was a fraud and I felt cheated and abused. The only thing that was face value was the parking garage, included and not charged in addition to the room.

A chocolate on the pillow goes a long way with customers. This hotel most definitely does not grasp the concept.

Worst service from all hotel services. The restaurant was so slow we had to get out and pick up pizzas for dinner !
The management is completely absent and does not care about their guess.
It is a shame because the buildings are beautiful.

the place i really beautiful ... but ...

1) we stayed there for a wedding. ariived on thursday which was fine. but then it turned friday and the rest of the group arrived. and guess what... they had no room. the explanation of the hotel was that another group which was there already a couple of nights before decided to stay a night longer. great. well ... a couple of people stayed at another hotel in curanavca and the rest stayed in the spa area. alright... the hotel said that those people can have lunch and drinks on the hotel. but then they split the bill on different people of the group. how rude is that?
2) it took them forever to do something. at five o clock they said that everything is going to be done in one hour. by nine there was still a lot of things missing which had to be done.
3) the service was horrible. not all of them but around 80% was annoyed that they have to serve us. it seemed that they did it in the end on purpose.
4.) the people who stayed at the spa and slept on the massagebeds had to pay almost full price.
we stayed there for a wedding. thank god that the acutal wedding day went alright. but before and after everything was a mess. i could conitinue with a lot of complaitns. but then it would take me forever. i was actually refliefed when we left the hotel. which i think is a pity.
