Just back from 11 night stay. Maia exceeded our expectations as a getaway destination.

Villas large, beautifully furnished, very comfortable bed, quality sheets and pillows. Detailed interiors, not stuffy, open to outside, private infinity pools, veranda with day bed, garden, very private.

Butler (Parusha) was attentive and responsive but not underfoot, very kind and pleasant, professional and sincerely friendly. Surprised us with birthday treats, special dinners, flowers in room, on bed, in bath. She´s wonderful!

Beach is beautiful. Also very private. Large enough to stroll a bit and has direct access to coral reef - great snorkeling - hotel provides everything. Shared pool area is right off the beach and next to restaurant. Plenty of towels, lounge chairs, personnel with drinks, cold towels.

Restaurant is excellent - crossover with Creole influence. Chef will prepare almost anything at request however menu was more than sufficient. Staff very attentive, friendly.

The few technical problems we had (hotel furnished IPod was acting up), ice machine was out, were repaired immediately and indescretely.

Highly recommend for relaxing, sunning, eating, romance.

Opened in 2006, this is newest hotel you can get on Mahe Island.

It features modern design with great views. Each villa has it's own pool with an integraded bathtube! Funny idea.

They had free wireless internet access, which is not yet really operational.

Service wasn't really fit for business yet - they were friendly, helpful and everything, but appeared disorganized.

I definitly come back some time, as it's the best you can get on Mahe.

I recently experienced this new hotel. Waouaw...is it a hotel ? your private villa ? your residence ? It is a mix of everything. The villas are simply outstanding, all details are perfect from the armchair set in the private pool to the "La Prairie" amenities in the open bathroom, to the welcome champagne. It's perfect, a "must do and stay". For sure the butler is at your disposal.
The villas are overlooking the bay and you enjoy a scenic view, probably the best in Mahé. It's a pity that you have not to much intimacy as you do see the other villas ( I do remember the stay in Nha Trang at the Hideaway where you are completely secluded)
The spa is small but beautiful, and the team is just perfect.
The french-chinese chef at the restaurant, is one of the best in the area, and he's passionnate about what he is doing ; eg: ask him to cook you the dinner upon it's inspiration... I tell you the vegetable creme brulée is a dream. I miss it !
The bar is nice facing the "public" pool and beach, but the service is not corresponding to the restaurant and other places on sites.
The ambiance is perfect, the design too (maybe to much asian inspiration between balinese to thai) and the rates are much higher than in south east asia, but worth the trip.

Having seen a lot of luxury resorts in the Indian Ocean, this is truly one of the best locations ... Anse Louis is a paradise beach, the villas are beautiful designed and equipped with everything (private pool, spacious outside living area, iPod-Connector ...), your private butler cares for everything all day, the kitchen-chef prepares excellent dishes (also whatever you want else besides the very small menu) and the restaurant area is very very "stylish". After the first hour, you even don´t want to leave this place anymore!

We stayed in a Beach Front Villa, where our 2-year old baby enjoyed the upside smaller part of the pool and playing with the butler all day. Anyway, it is not really a kid-destination, but it is also no problem to go there by with family. Having seen also the spectacular Hillside Villas, we woul suggest them if you want more privacy, like on honeymoon ... but we think, there is no need to book the more expensive Signature-Villas, the normal ones are designed equally and their views are also great! Staying in the beach villas, you live just a step near the beachfront and the crashing waves are giving you the sound of paradise ...

The beach is only sometimes frequented by tourists or locals (like 2 or 3 persons a day ...), so it is just your private beach. The (very nice) local people are keeping a respectful distance to the (security guarded) villa areas and we enjoyed it very much, when our daughter was playing in the water with a local kid. The SPA is a very special place, the atmosphere and the treatments are excellent!

MAIA is a truly paradise resort, just go there and stay as long as your bank account stops it!
