This May we came for a second time to Un Patio en Luberon. We had been there one year before. We enjoyed our stay very much again. The interaction between the several guest and the hosts is a great benefit of the house. The hosts speak French, Italian and English. They offer very nice rooms, a great breakfast. On 5 days a week they also offer a dinner opportunity at the house. The dinner of Stef was great every day. We personally recommend his ´tarte au citron´ - the best we have ever eaten. Thanks for that great present to us! ;-)

We highly recommend that place to people who are enjoying the quietness and beauty of the countryside, who are interested in talking to other people from all over the world and to those who like south-french inspired food and good wine.

Hope to see you again in future!

We stayed at Un Patio en Luberon in September 2013 for 5 nights. The rooms were roomy and decorated attractively. Our room was called Rousillon, it was located to the front of the property and had a view to the Provencal countryside. The bathroom was well appointed and spacious.
Ansouis is a beautiful little village and is a good base for touring the Luberon by car. There is only one restaurant in the village which is opened in the evening, and as it has a Michelin star, it attracts many people who are not staying in the village...so be sure to book well in advance if you wish to eat at La Cloiserie. (Our hosts booked this for us...but do make sure you get a confirming email from there regarding your booking). However one of the highlights of this property is your ability to book in for dinner, cooked by one of the hosts, Stefan, for an additional cost of 29Euro. It is a fixed menu of 4 courses and you share the table with other house guests staying for dinner. The food was delicious, and this was a wonderful way to chat to the other guests from France and Austria. (Schoolgirl French was some help!) The hosts, Stefan, Michel and Jean Michel are very welcoming and helpful.
For people who may be allergic to cats, it might be better to request a different room. Leaving the window open in the warmth of the evening allowed one of the house cats to climb over the roof to sleep on one of the chairs in our room! The rooms all seemed to be upstairs, so if mobility is an issue, keep this in mind. Our stay here was one of the highlights of our trip and I can thoroughly recommend it.

A stay at Un Patio en Luberon is a trip highlight. Ansuis as a village has character in spades and tourists in moderation. Not only have hosts Jean-Michel, Stephan and Michel created a tasteful and picturesque environment to complement their special setting, they provide service with character too. Two dinners provided by Stephan were a highlight. As up to 8 guests can be seated together in the atmospheric dining area, our meals were shared experiences of not only Stephan's high quality and splendidly presented food but also of conversation with guests of differing nationalities: a real dinner party. The ambience of Un Patio en Luberon is a fond memory that made our five nights in Provence a very special time.

After beeing at an excellent B&B outside the city ,me and my wife looked for something different. We found it at "Un Patio en Luberon!! Located in the heart of the beautifull small village of Ansouis" this trendy and traditional B&B is at the highest level possible!! The rooms are stupendous ,the french breakfast is delicious and the service is very friendly !! Above all of that is the atmosphere!!! You feel like you live there just like the locals!
Highly recommended!!

We spent one night at Un Patio en Luberon, booking at the last moment. As other reviewers have said, it is tricky to find, and the map on their home website is very useful. It is near to the top of the village, up some slopes and steep steps.

We found it absolutely charming, beautifully laid out and decorated. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean and our bathroom was a joy, well equipped and spacious.

We ate dinner there at a communal table, having been served drinks on the terrace with the other guests. Four courses, all delicious, well worth booking in advance.

The attention to detail here was outstanding, from the personal touches in the bedroom and bathroom to a wonderful breakfast of fruit salad, croissants and cake and even an offer of a boiled egg. Cheeses and hams also available.

We will definitely be back for another break 'away from it all.'

Room Tip: We chose the top grade of room for a little extra and it was well worth it

We stayed here for 4 nights in August 2013 and absolutely loved it! The hosts were great and we had the dinner cooked by Stephan for 2 nights - would definitely recommend it, I was so full after 4 amazing courses!! We also enjoyed drinks on the patio with other guests. Our room was very large with a beautiful view and felt very authentic. You need to have a car, as Ansouis is very small and there aren't many dining options. Would recommend to everyone!

Michel, Stefan and Jean-Michel are fantastic hosts at Un Patio en Luberon. I stayed at this B&B with my mom and her best friend in celebration of their 60th birthdays. Their dream was to visit the lavender fields! Un Patio en Luberon is charming, relaxing, exceptionally clean, has beautiful views, the nicest hosts, and so much more. We would definitely return!

Tips:

1. If you want to have dinner at the B&B (freshly prepared by superb chef, Stefan, with ingredients he purchases at the local market) the night you arrive, e-mail Michel to let him know. We arrived around 3pm and were tired from traveling but had to find somewhere to eat that evening. You have to let the hosts know if you would like dinner in the morning so Stefan knows how much food to purchase. You obviously can't do this if you aren't there in person, so try e-mailing them in advance. The price is 30 Euro/person and is WELL worth the money. The food is absolutely delicious and the setting is beautiful.

2. Parking can be a bit of an issue as the roads are very narrow. Thankfully, Jean-Michel was very accommodating and helped us with this. Your best bet is to call before you arrive to have the hosts explain how parking works so you don't drive around the village 3 times before you figure it out (like we did!).

Room Tip: We had 1 person in the room called "Gordes" and 2 people in "Lourmarin." These...
