This was a laidback experience of relaxation on the lake. Many species of wildlife were seen which included monkeys, lizards, birds, turtles and crocodiles. Captain Carl was well versed in the habits of the wildlife and knew where to find them. His knowledge of the habits resulted in some great photo ops. The tour was completed with a great meal of local cuisine and recreation on Lake Gatun. The excursion was a good value and highly enjoyable. Carlos, the driver, provided great insights to "recent" history in Panama.

Had a great time with Captain Carl and his tour around Panama Canal and Gatun Lake. He is very knowledgelable!!! Now, this tour is for people that are willing to live a jungle experience. Meaning you will get wet, shows soaked wet (unless you carry flip flops with you), get feet muddy and body sweaty. A little exercise during kayaking and so on. This is an adventure type tour experience. Lots of monkeys, birds, trees everywhere, insects (that will not bite), little frogs and the best part of the tour is kayaking until you reach the waterwall and walk in the middle of the rainforest. You will have panamanian food, so do not expect a gourmet style or fine dining. If you are vegetarian, Capt Carl will provide this option. What you must carry with you, extra clothing and a nice camera and fully charged, since you will start shooting pictures of everything that's around you!!!

This was a really great tour, and so far, the most fun we have had yet. First you will He tour the canal and hear some history and watch the ships pass by. He then takes you to an island where you will get the chance to meet some local monkeys up close and personal that come out to the boat. After that you go to his floating lodge in the middle of nowhere and meet a different type of monkey.

Lunch was a nice Panamanian plate that was filling and tasty. After that he takes you on a kayaking trip through the jungle (too bad the water levels were low as it made paddling slightly difficult in some areas, but not so bad that you should miss the adventure) to a hidden waterfall that you can jump off. He has other options as well, like a fishing trip, if you aren't into kayaking. You also get to hold a baby Caiman alligator and can lounge on the hammocks, jump off the houseboat, and check out his other pets. Carl is funny, a bit cheesy and very knowledgable, and he really makes this tour fun. Don’t miss out!

I can't say enough great things about this tour. It was super easy to arrange transportation to and from our hotel in Panama City, the driver showed up EARLY and was extremely pleasant, giving us tons of information about Panama, the canal, and answering any and all questions we had.

Captain Carl was a fantastic guide - funny and extremely knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. He takes you all around Lake Gatun and you watch the ships passing through the canal - but you also see plenty of monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, etc. I really didn't want to spend an entire day around all the industrial canal stuff so this was perfect. I was thrilled for the chance to get out and kayak through the jungle - it's a short trip but at least a little exercise! They serve you lunch and drinks, too.

One note: we booked through a company called Panama Travel Corp. It was super easy and we paid for the trip and the driver via Paypal. It seemed like everyone on the tour had found out about it in a different way - do not let that deter you from booking! It's not "dicey" at all, it's a great day of fun in the jungle.

My bf and I were looking for a day tour activities in Panama and jungleland was the cheapest and sounded the most interesting thing to do here. Indeed we made a good choice. Pick up from the hotel, safe ride to a dock, meeting captain Carl(he was very helpful, caring and funny even if he use same jokes for all tourists), going through the canal, watching life of crocodiles, iguanas and monkeys, kayaking in the jungle, jumping from a cascade(I scratched my knee while landing, but it was my first time, everybody else rid just fine - now my knee seems fine as well) and a super good lunch from traditional cuisine. We're totally satisfied with the tour. Also they respond really fast on emails and deliver you back to the hotel :)
