Looking for a meal out with my friend and his wife, they recommended we try the Dirty Habit at Hollingbourne, they had dined there a number of times before and had been very happy. I've just lost six stone in weight and having heard other positive remarks my wife and I were looking forward to a good meal. For starters the four of us shared a meat and a fish platter and that was good but nothing special. However the main meal was to say the least - poor, I had battered haddock. I assume "battered" was describing how the fish met it's end? The haddock? was thin and dry and resembled the bits of 'fish' you get in value bags at cheap supermarkets the brown stuff on the outside was hard and not at all crispy and the chips were tasteless. My wife and friend had the rib eye steak, they said it was tender but it was minuscule, it was about the size of a drinks coaster and not much thicker they were also disappointed with the 'fries'. My friends wife had the Pork Loin which she described as OK. We all left most of our main meal and the evening was only rescued by the dessert, the service and the company.
