“Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were very pleased to enjoy the Sunday lunch carvery offered by this hotel. Every detail was
to a high standard and exceptional value for money. The staff employed in the brasserie were
friendly and very professional. The restaurant was clean and comfortable.
Looking forward to enjoying several Sunday lunches during the Autumn/Winter period.
Thank you.

“convenient for eurotunnel, terrible food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

one of the poorest hotel restaurants I've experienced. Attractive sounding bistro-style menu, but the reality is disgusting ingredients microwaved or over-cooked. Scallops, black pudding & pea purée sounds pretty good until you realise the pea purée is tinned marrow fat peas!!

i quite enjoyed the buffet sunday lunch there was plenty of choice with the roasts and veg. but it was not as hot as i would have liked. for dessert i ordered the apple cruble with cream but i was very disappoined with the squirty cream it came with wished i had ordered custerd or ice cream instead all in all though it was good value for the money we paid

Dear Guest
Thank you for posting your review following your Sunday lunch with us at the Mercure Maidstone. I am pleased that you found plenty of choice on the carvery and that it was good value for money. We monitor the buffet temperature regularly, but I appreciate your pointing this out to us. The chef assures me that the cream was definitely whipped on the premises, but he will have plenty of ice cream or custard ready for your next visit!
