My husband and I have just spent 8 nights in this hidden gem of an hotel. The approach sets the scene for what is to come. We were most warmly received by Sara and escorted to our suite which was just what we wanted. It was at the back of the hotel and overlooked some garden where a rabbit was often seen enjoying his food. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us or the other guests and they all tried very hard to accomodate everybody's needs and all with such good grace and smiles. The food was superb and all cooked to order. We do think that the desserts could have had a bit more variety but that is our only not 10 out of 10. Even though this hotel accepts dogs there was never a problem with any of them and didn't leave a doggy smell about the hotel. There is a dress code but it certainly did not make for a stuffy hotel, just kept up standards. There was certainly much laughter in the dining room both at breakfast and dinner. We shall return and a big thank you to James,Sara all the staff at Rose in Vale for making our holiday so wonderful.

The first glimpse of the hotel takes your breath away, dressed in its autumn colours with virginia creeper all over the facade, it looks wonderful. Once inside the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. There are comfortable guest lounges and the food and service in the restaurant is outstanding. Highly recommended.

We have had 3 wonderful days at Rose in the Vale. The hotel is spotlessly clean, very welcoming and the staff provided excellent service. The food both at breakfast and dinner was delicious. A great location to explore north west Cornwall.

Recently returned from a 3 day stay . Booked from a Groupon deal which was great value for money. Excellent hotel , peaceful & great breakfast. The restaurant menu looked great but as we were not advised prior to our visit of the dress code we did not use it . Would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel is a considerably extended period house, with the public areas in the old part. Bar and dining room were calm and beautifully decorated, food was very good.
Service was friendly and efficient. We had a Groupon voucher but upgraded to a mini-suite, which looked as though it had been recently refurbished - decor and fittings were excellent and the bathroom was beautiful.
The hotel is very well-located for sites of Cornwall and we had a splendid stay.
I would stay there again, but probably wouldn't eat in the restaurant for dinner because although the food was very good, it was fairly expensive, and the wine was very expensive.

Room Tip: The mini-suite is worth the extra cash.

From check in to check out the Rose-in-Vale Country House Hotel was excellent. We stayed over a bank holiday weekend, even though the British weather was its usual rainy self everything at the hotel wasn't so gloomy. Breakfast and evening meals I can recommend.
Out door pool looked excellent. (Didn't get to use due to weather but did dip my toe in and it was heated!)
If your looking for a hotel in the area I recommend the Rose-in-Vale

Unable to respond to any of my enquires or questions regarding the difference between room standards, ... " we were not normal guests " she told me,presumably because we booked through a third party agent ? clearly not something that is totally agreeable with the owners, a case of needs must? everything i asked was met with heavy sighs, shrugging of shoulders, and looks of contempt! very rude, thank God her staff were more gracious, a lesson that they may want to pass on to there employer? And as for 4 star ? apart from a reasonable dinning room, an outside pool and jaccuzi, which we coud,nt use because of the weather, it just leaves the location? 3 star at best, and ONLY because of location and building from the outside.
