“Very good but room to improve”

We ate at the club tonight , I had the seafood chowder as starter. This was a well constructed soup, topped with Parmesan and baby spinach. So many chowders you get served in restaurant are burre blanc with some seafood marinara biffed in. I initially thought ' where is the cream? But it was not necessary. I have to admit to being a seafood chowder nut and this was one of the best. For the main I had the special ,beef and Guinness stew with green beans they were perfectly cooked beans, still having colour and crunch, good work chef. Mrs has the carbonara with garlic sauce, the pasta was slightly over cooked and the garlic was just too much , had the taste of dried or processed garlic. A little point but it does make a big difference . Over all a pleasurable meal and far better that a unfortunate experience this time last year.

“So good we ate here twice in 2 days!”
Reviewed July 10, 2014 via mobile

This club/restaurant was recommended to us by a local as a "hidden secret" of the area. We decided to try it out and were very pleased with the selection and the reasonable prices. The steaks were cooked just the way we asked. The chicken schnitzel was generous and the green chicken curry was delicious. We went on a Wednesday night during school holidays in July and it was very quiet - but Thursday was much more busy and noisy because it's members night.

“Quite average...”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

We had made a reservation in advance to ensure we had a table. On arrival, the staff were not helpful finding us a table whete we could fit my whole family, even though we booked it. I was quite impressed by the selection on the menu. A majority of my family chose the traditional parmi, the stuffed prawns, 2 chicken salads and I chose the seafood platter. When ordering, I asked to have Kilpatrick oysters instead of natural, but the staff refused to do this, saying that it couldnt be done, even though there were Kilpatrick oysters on the menu. The chicken salads were very average, with a chopped up chicken schnitzel and an unusual combination of salads. The chicken parmi lacked toppings and were quite dry. The seafood platter was average with oily fish, slimy calamari, but the prawn twisters were quite good. The stuffed prawns were probably the best of all the meals. Overall, the service was average, the meals were average and I wont be going back in a hurry.

“Breakfast in Heaven”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

Sitting on the deck in the winter sun overlooking the beautiful Noosa River enjoying delicious Eggs Benedict and the yummy coffee, couldn't be any place better. Buffet Breakfast was also voted excellent by the rest of our table, kids ran off for a play at the nearby park while we had a second cuppa. Have been here for dinner & lunch ( also excellent) first time for Breakie but will be back maybe next weekend.
