I know you can't please everyone all of the time, but having just read the last two reviews I'm amazed and confounded... those guests had a very different experience to the one we had!
We were up at Noosa over the Noosa Triathlon weekend and wanted to eat somewhere less manic than Hastings Street. We thought the Boathouse sounded nice and we weren't disappointed.
We started with a drink up at the Sunset Bar which has breathtaking views up and down the river and over the Sunshine Coast mountains and played really cool music. A lovely way to wind down and wait for our table.
Downstairs my husband and I shared a Seafood Platter for two and couldn't fault it for freshness or presentation - it was divine! Our 8 year old daughter had the Kids Combo and ate it all without a single complaint - even the green beans (which by my reckoning means it's more than ok! ) The service was friendly and professional and the ambiance of being on the water was amazing.
In fact we had such a lovely first experience, that we went back for take away fish and chips the following evening and then tried their breakfast menu on the Sunday as we watched finely tuned athletes cruise past us in the morning heat.
So that was three visits across 4 days, with 3 different meals and different staff at each … and not a single complaint. We found the service great, the location beautiful and peaceful and the food divine. I particularly like their preference to using local produce and eating seasonally.
I see they have just been awarded a Queensland Tourism Award for 'Queensland’s Best’ in the ‘Tourism Restaurants & Catering Services - so there must be others who have enjoyed it as well!
I'd suggest the previous reviewers go back and try again, because something ain't right!
