I know you can't please everyone all of the time, but having just read the last two reviews I'm amazed and confounded... those guests had a very different experience to the one we had!

We were up at Noosa over the Noosa Triathlon weekend and wanted to eat somewhere less manic than Hastings Street. We thought the Boathouse sounded nice and we weren't disappointed.

We started with a drink up at the Sunset Bar which has breathtaking views up and down the river and over the Sunshine Coast mountains and played really cool music. A lovely way to wind down and wait for our table.

Downstairs my husband and I shared a Seafood Platter for two and couldn't fault it for freshness or presentation - it was divine! Our 8 year old daughter had the Kids Combo and ate it all without a single complaint - even the green beans (which by my reckoning means it's more than ok! ) The service was friendly and professional and the ambiance of being on the water was amazing.

In fact we had such a lovely first experience, that we went back for take away fish and chips the following evening and then tried their breakfast menu on the Sunday as we watched finely tuned athletes cruise past us in the morning heat.

So that was three visits across 4 days, with 3 different meals and different staff at each … and not a single complaint. We found the service great, the location beautiful and peaceful and the food divine. I particularly like their preference to using local produce and eating seasonally.

I see they have just been awarded a Queensland Tourism Award for 'Queensland’s Best’ in the ‘Tourism Restaurants & Catering Services - so there must be others who have enjoyed it as well!

I'd suggest the previous reviewers go back and try again, because something ain't right!

Don't be fooled by the location- this is a very overpriced pub meal! Wine was warm, decor dingy, service just ok, didn't see the same waiter twice. Seafood fresh however you are situated right on the water so one would expect it to be fresh! Apparently this restaurant has had a change in chef, however entree was a sloppy mess, no salt and pepper on the table & $34 dollars for fish, chips and a minuscule salad drenched in salad dressing. Umm no.
Won't be recommending this to anyone. If you're in the area why not walk along the river frontage doesn't cost a cent and it's much more enjoyable than dining here!

Hi Fiona, we are sorry you did not enjoy your overall dining experience us. We are however glad you enjoyed the fresh seafood. We do have a fabulous new chef and we have been receiving some great reviews and feedback especially regarding our seafood. As we have done recent refurbishments in our restaurant we are not entirely sure what you mean in relation to your reference to "dingy" but if you do wish to elaborate any further on your experience we are open to constructive feedback which you can feel free to send to info@noosaboathouse.com.au

Just visited with a bunch of girlfriends. We did not have a booking but they were happy to accommodate us. Between us we had barramundi, salmon, pork belly and Asian chicken salad. All very fresh and good size. Would recommend for a nice dinner out.

Frequent Diners of Noosa Restaurants, and thought I would give Boathouse a go for lunch. Service was OK, but felt like they really did not want to be there or did not want us to be there! Ordered Entrees and Starters to share, something light- Mooloolaba mango prawns and salt pepper squid and Ciabatta Bread, and kids fish n chips. Waited 35 minutes. Prawns were warm dish with mango which was dry and shredded with a sauce...not what I expected. 4 Prawns very small for $25..... Squid cooked well, but very bland, red jam on top was not needed. Kids Fish was poor quality fish...for a restaurant I expect my child's meal to be of a high standard not a piece of shark that had black running through it. Not a very pleasant meal $80 with drinks for 2 entrees and one kids meal and it was not even presented well. Sorry Boathouse you need to lift your game.
