as a new paraplegic we travelled from Brisbane to Sydney and really struggled to find good accommodation that had wheel chair accessble rooms resteraunts etc. Some hotels even said to us "oh we took the railings out of the rooms because no one uses them and they are ugly" Many disabled rooms have no views and are way down the back of the property however not so with Peppers. the room was tastefully decorated specious and overlooked the marina. So nicely done I would have been happy with the room if in my days of being able bodied. The staff were relaxed and vey helpful. Parking was closed to the room. The resteraunt was fantasice while busy they managed to get us a table. The food was wonderful. This is a great place to stay.

We had an excellent weekend at Peppers, on our way from Sydney towards Brisbane. Saturday night was very busy but Sunday much less so. A very nice room with balcony overlooking the marina; large comfortable bed; good bathroom; quiet ambience throughout. Staff were good. Restaurant food was excellent. Several very nice beaches nearby, and bars, cafes, etc. at Nelson's Bay. Make sure you get driving directions, because Peppers isn't signposted until you're nearly there. The hotel is a nice series of linked 2-storey chalets, with lawns and boardwalk.

Went here with a group of 3 couples, 1 couple was new to Australia and this was a great introduction to the wonders of Port Stephens and this little slice of heaven at Corlette - roomd were very spacious, clean and comfortable and the double doors opening out to your deck and further to the lawn overlooking the water was just divine. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and 2 breakfasts, the staff were fantastic and very knowledgeable regarding the food and wine and were more than generous with breakfast servings and free little tid bits. They even gave us a discount on our breakfast orders as we are a group! The bar upstairs is quaint , comfy and quiet, ideal for a G & T before dinner. This is a superb place for Weddings and we watched one next door at their convention room. The place is understated elegance and easy coastal living. We are going back for January holidays next year with more visitors from overseas.

Just came home today from a weekend stay at Peppers Anchorage. I was here on my 2 year wedding anniversary! All I can was the place was great. I stayed in room 105, which was on the ground floor, and directly faced the white sandy beach outside of the hotel!

The hotel is probably the best in the port Stephens area! I would definatley recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to port Stephens!

I would also recommend Catch restaurant for a wonderful dinner. It's pricey, but it's a class above all else.

Would go back!

In short,
- I have never heard such loud housekeeping staff at a hotel here or overseas. My 7 month pregnant wife could not manage an afternoon sleep because of this on day 1.
- on day 2 the unemptied ash tray on the balcony that greeted us on arrival was still staring back at me here
- Peppers seem to see no reason to use doona covers (rather two sheets sandwiching the doona cover): our doona cover has a large yellow stain on one side of it, delightful! I haven't even looked at the rest of it for fear of what I may find
- A book called "Pesky the Rat" was on the floor when we got here, good read for a 5 yo but odd that the vigilance of housekeeping hadn't noticed it before we arrived
- the dust behind the plantation shutters and on top of the TV was interesting - never fear, I took it upon myself to do a slight wipe down.
- $1 a minute internet charges apply at this hotel. Are you kidding me? The marginal cost to provide this service would be negligible.
- $16.95 to watch old in-house movies???
- the room has a "chiller" but no bar fridge so don't bother on bringing any white wine with you hoping you can serve it at a tolerable temperature. Why they stock it with beer I do not know. Not many people I know would suffer drinking a far-less-than-cold beer and paying significantly for the privilege.
- cobwebs all over the window next to where I'm writing this
- ventilation grates are caked with dust

Curiously I see not one negative review has seen the light of day on the actual Peppers site, including this one.

The room itself was nicely laid out, had a comfortable bed and would be reasonable for the price if it weren't for the above issues.

We went to Peppers Anchorage just for a weekend getaway from Sydney. Unfortunately for us, it rained the whole time we were there. There were occasional bursts of sunshine, which we did our best to utilise, but overall it was a wet weekend. At first we bemoaned our bad luck, as we could tell the resort would be beautiful in good weather. However, we discovered that on each floor there is a guest lounge room, which nobody was using! We got our books and newspapers out and managed to spend a lovely afternoon doing crossword puzzles and listening to the howling wind beating sea spray against the windows of the resort while watching the anchored boats rock around in the marina. It did force us to relax in an entirely unexpected way. We would have loved to utilise the little balcony leading off our room a bit more, but we couldn't as it was wet.

The restaurant was a slight disappointment. My dinner was fine, but my husband's meal was a little dry and overcooked. Breakfast was very crowded, as there was a wedding on that weekend. We enjoyed eating out locally the following night, and it was cheaper too!

The decor is a little dated, but it didn't bother us. It does fit into the general theme of the resort.

We would love to come back on a sunny weekend to see what atmosphere it has then.

Spent 4 days. Fantastic service. Good food in the restaurant. Staff arranged for a complimentary bottle of champagne and organised delivery of flowers to room. Can't praise the hotel or staff enough. Special mention to Craig on reception, Peter in the restaurant and Daniel the barman.
Wouldn't hesitate to return or recomend hotel to anyone
