We drove up from Sydney for 1nights stay. Our Room had beautiful views of the harbour and Marina however had to dine in Nelson as the restaurant was fully booked. Rooms were comfortable but a little dated bathroom a bit mouldy at places and lighting very dim. Dining areas were being renovated so breakfast was in function room and not very glamorous.
Great pool and day spa.
Woke to the load noises from plumbing in the middle of the might.

Thank you for taking the time to provide some feedback from your stay with us.

We have now finished our refurbishments in the kitchen and have the normal Merretts restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We do apologise for any inconvenience this caused you. Unfortunately, there is never a good time to complete these major works.

I have asked our maintenance team to work through the bathrooms and ensure that the grouting is a priority when they are completing works in the room.

Thanks again and we hope to welcome you back to Peppers Anchorage in the near future.

Kind regards
Kent Warren

We sailed up from Sydney in January this year.
It can get a bit blowy and if you are facing the entrance the N/Westerly swell smashes into you mooring so was a bit unpleasant for us but would be good in more favorable winds. The pool was nice, but we didn't use any other facilities .

Thank you for your comments on the Marina here at Peppers Anchorage.

Unfortunately, we (Peppers) do not operate the marina, but I have passed on your comments to the owners of the marina.

Kind regards

We spent last weekend at Peppers Anchorage - we stayed in a double bedroom on the ground floor for one night. What we really loved about the place was that you could step out of your room and walk to the beach which was less than a minute away. The room had a great views and gave us the ideal resort feel. Our bedroom was quite spacious and even had two beds - one king size and one single. The bathroom was OK, although we had a leaky shower. Personally, I've never been a fan of dim lighting in bedrooms and I found that the room was quite dark even with all the lights on. One disappointing aspect was that the heating just did not work in the room (the outside temperature was around 12 degrees)! The air-conditioning system seems to be an old one (not digital) and you have to turn the knob to change the temperature - we had it on full "heat" for 1.5 hours and it still did not make a difference. When we called reception they asked us to keep the fan on high and wait for the room to warm up although I don't see how this makes a difference if the thermostat doesn't work at all. The entertainment system was average (18 dollars to rent a movie is just ridiculous!) although they had a radio/iPod dock which was great.

The staff were very friendly and the restaurant seems to have a good menu, although we ended up eating at the marina in Nelson Bay. Breakfast at $35 pp is overpriced and having stayed at some of the top hotels in Australia, I'm not sure if it was worth paying that much for breakfast at Peppers.

Overall, I think this is a great place to spend the weekend although it could do with a few improvements to the room and facilities, which would then help justify the price.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are handy as you can simply walk to the beach from your room.

Thanks you for taking the time to give us some feedback on your recent stay with us.

It is a great position we are in here - having the beach so close is a definite benefit

I have passed on your comments to the Maintenance team about the air-conditioning to ensure that the systems are more efficient. With the changing weather now as we move into spring, we will need to ensure that this is ok.

I have also spoken with the food and beverage manager to ensure that the pricing for breakfast is accurate. The price used to be $35 pp, however, we did reduce that a while ago down to $30 pp. I apologise you were given the wrong information there.

Thanks again for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Kind regards
Kent Warren

Spent a very pleasant time at Peppers. Wonderful location with excellent views over the water. But the experience could have been much improved on two fronts. First, some parts of the resort are starting to become tired. The bar and lounge areas could do with a facelift, and the bathroom in our room was average at best. Also, the main restaurant Merretts for Sat night dinner was poor on service, with the first course taking one hour from order to table. The food itself was very good.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with us.

we do have a great location here, as we move into spring, being so close to the water is a real bonus.

With regard to the public areas, these were actually refurbished about 18 months ago - including the restaurant, the main guest lounge and the bar.

I do apologise about the slow service at dinner. I have spoken with the Food and Beverage Manager and we will be completing training over the next 4 weeks to ensure that our consistency is improved.

Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Kind regards
Kent Warren

My husband and I stayed at the Anchorage on a Monday night in July 2012 with friends who had a room next door. Both rooms were clean and tidy, well laid out with water views. Beautiful linen, tastefully decorated and even though the resort has been operating for a few years, the rooms have been well maintained and were a delight to stay in.

I think our room number was 201 - at the end of a wing. French doors opened out on to a lawn area that connected to the pier with a lovely boardwalk the length of the resort. Our room had a little nook in a bay window which overlooked the carpark where the lounge and coffee table were situated - the perfect place for pre dinner drinks before heading to Merretts.

Had dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic. From the moment we walked through the door at Merretts we were treated like old friends and spoiled all night long. Wait staff were outstanding and the food was absolutely amazing. The wine list wasn’t bad either. Not a cheap meal but not expensive either considering the quality and the presentation. A set price for the number of courses you order. I had barramundi (Wow!) and then the apple crème brulee served with an amazing green apple sorbet. We were treated to an appetizer on the house which was a shot of vichyssoise with truffle oil and deep fried camembert (I think). Yum. Running out of food adjectives. It will go down as one of the most memorable meals I have had. Comparable to a great dinner I had at La Fontaine's on Hayman Island in the 80's. Wonderful night - class act!

Breakfast the following morning was a generous buffet with cereals, lots of different breads and pastries, hot food items like bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms etc. Great range of teas and coffee. I headed straight for the bircher muesli with fresh and poached fruits and yoghurt. Yum! So much to choose from and everything our group had was delicious. This beautiful breakfast was included in our room price of $135. A wonderful winter special. We will be back.

Room Tip: Room 201 had a great little bay window area.
