I have never stayed at a B&B before but after staying here I will never hesitate to stay in one again. Anne was a lovely host and the accommodation was beautiful, clean and spacious. The breakfast was just as good as you get in a fancy cafe as well. They certainly make you feel welcom the moment you walk in the door. The view is spectacular and the area is very peaceful. I would definately stay here again.

Unfortunately my partner booked a last minute trip to Anne's Waterfront Haven a couple of weekends ago and I would definitely urge others to think before booking.
We had noted through the booking agent we would be arrving late as we had a long journey from Sydney on the Friday evening. Due to unforseen circumstances, we did not arrive until Saturday, but did not think this would be a problem given that we had pre-booked and paid for two nights accomodation. On arrival Anne informed us she had already given our room to someone else. We were surprised that despite knowing the long journey we were making, Anne did not take the time to call us to make us aware that she was doing this, knowing we could have made a wasted journey. To make matters worse, she claimed to have called the booking agent, Wotif, who she claimed advised her to take this course of action - which on following up, we found to be untrue. Wotif exmplained to us that they were equally surprised she had not given us a call to let us know that our room would be given to someone else.
On arrival, we were mostly surprised by the manner with which Anne dealt with the situation. We found her to be quite abrupt and rude. As people who have travelled many times over, in locations across the world, this is the first time that a hotelier has not had the courtesy to not phone to confirm any (even a slight) change of booking, and moreover, having actually pre-paid for a booking, I have never had the experience of a booking being cancelled for any reason without my notification.
After a 4 hour 30 minute journey thorugh Sydney traffic, we decided rather than return home to book into the Shoal Bay Resport and Spa. Best decision we made. The service there was fantastic, the location was second to none, the room was great with a superb view and the facilities were far better than we would have had. In fact the only mistake we made with Shoal Bay was not booking there initially. We enjoyed it so much we returned the following weekend.

Anne was very sweet and the interactions with her were pleasant and friendly so you didn't feel awkward being in her home, but she was also very good about staying out of your way. She's a good cook and the breakfast was excellent. You mark down your order and preferred time of delivery the night before. It really is right on the water and the view is beautiful. The bathroom was really nice, with two separate rooms, a separate shower and deep tub, towel warmer, heat lamp, the whole bit. Everything was incredibly clean. The only thing worth mentioning is that you could sometimes hear the family talking, but that to me comes with the territory of staying in a B&B. Overall, very nice stay, very good value.

We stayed here for a couple of nights..it was peaceful and quiet only to be woken by the kookaburras in the morning. The hosts, Bill and Anne were very helpful and told us of the nice restaurants in the area. Immaculately clean.
