It is interesting to see how the mounds are all aligned north to south, keeping the inside of the mound from getting too hot in the sun. There is a lot of information on the notice boards explaining the lifecycle of termites. Also the huge cathedral mound is worth seeing even if just feel dwarfed beside it.

An easy stop and flat walk to see termite mounds that could be headstones in a cemetery. Also one large mound with good description. Not far from park entrance with good parking and toilets.

Hi there,

Visited Termites Mounds on the way from Florence falls. Very convenient how everything close is. You can do it in the way back to Darwin. Very amazed with the construction skills of those little creatures. Apparently is around 55 years old.

Had a friend take us who is a travel guide for Wayoutback Australian Safaris. Her knowledge and what she showed us was fantastic. I would recommend a tour with this company just to see Kakadu and Litchfield with an informative guide. It would make visiting the sites even more memorable. The termite mounds were very interesting.
