As a professional kitesurfer and outdoor sports lover, Ibiraquera is the place I choose to spend the most time of my year, because of the amazing conditions for kiting, surfing and all of the surrounding playground for all kind of sports. After 2016/2017 season was done, myself and my girlfriend indulge ourselves with a couple of nights at Ponta da Piteira, wich is one of the most charming and romance inviting places we've ever seen.
We had the best relaxing time ever together...the rustic minimalist aesthetics, the rejuvenating comfort, the soul lifting view, the envolving nature, the home-friendly service...the whole atmosphere made us fell in love even deeper with our "hometown" and with ourselves.
If you're looking for a place where you can combine an romantic/adventure kinda trip, this is the one.

This palce has it all: spacious and complete suites, an incredible view, spectacular and helpful staff, but think twice if you're planning on taking a shower while you are there.

The first time we stayed here was in September 2016, a still chilly period for this place (specially during the night). We got to the hotel around 10 pm and wanted to take a shower so that we could finally realx after a 5 hour drive. We were amazed to see that there was no hot water in the room. We let the front desk know, but to make a long story short, we were only able to have hot water in our room the following day around noon.

We spent some hours going back and forth with the conversation, they were extremely helpful so very sorry for our touble, brought us a bottle of Cava as an apology, however we were so tired that we went to bed without being able to shower.

The next day, when we confronted the owner about our situation (we still had no hot water), he let us know that we would be reimbursed for the rate of one night. Commendable gesture, and, in our opinion, pretty fair given our situation.

Later that year, we decided to stay three more nights at the hotel, given that our final impression, in spite of the water issue, was good. The first thing we did when we got to the hotel was check if there was hot water in our room. And there was! We were happy and started filling the tub. After 15 minutes, the water stopped. And then we realised our problem this time was even bigger: there was no water at all.

The whole spiel played itself again. They apologized, more than once, brought us a cava for our troubles, talked to us for 3-4 hours letting us know when our water would be back, but again, we were beat and went to bed showerless.

This time was worse, though. We had no water so we had to brush our teeth using bottled water that we - luckly - brought. We had to use a bucket filled with water that they provided us in order to be able to flush. And the next morning we used the bathroom in the front office.

Again, they reimbursed us for one night, but this time we were tired. We did not want our money back, we wanted to spend some nice time realxing and enjoying our week off.

Given the high price tag (around USD 300 a night) I was expecting a lot more concern with guest comfort.

I hope I was just unlucky twice and this does not happen often at this hotel, because it is a very nice place to stay indeed, however I will give it a second thought the next time I am in Imbituba/Praia do Rosa.

Staying in this hotel can be an awesome experience, if the water works.

Hospedaria Ponta da Piteira is a hidden jewel. Each suite is built in stoneware and recycled wood from centennial houses from the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. Its design combines refinement, warmth and rusticity, in a contemporary way. Huge glass walls bring to each room the exuberant natural surroundings, focusing on the Barra de Ibiraquera views.
The suites are spacious, offering sauna, jacuzzi, walk-in closets, coffee machines, frigobar and a private terrace where you can sit and enjoy the view.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Eduardo, the manager, and Gisele, the breakfast chef, will do their best to suit the guests wishes.

Our stay at Ponta da Piteira was absolutely fantastic. The location is on a small hill overlooking the lagoon, with a direct view to the mouth of the lagoon, the surf break and the small island beyond. It's a quick 10 minute drive to the town of Praia do Rosa and elsewhere, and we did visit the town, but we were also delighted to be away from the town for much of our stay.

This small hotel is very quiet and peaceful, a real retreat. There are only 4-5 rooms and so the atmosphere is never busy. Most of the buildings are built from stone and wood reclaimed from older buildings in the nearby region, and reflects a unique and very attractive style and good sense of design and solid construction. The Alecrim suite where we stayed was built of solid stone, with a huge king+ bed, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, two-person hydromassage tub, sauna in the room, and an incredible view directly from the room.

We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast every morning in the cafe and also ate dinner at the hotel two out of the three nights we stayed there. Chef Douglas does a truly excellent job with the grill and they have a good selection of Argentine and Spanish wines to go with the parilla-style grilled meat (and other dishes).

All of the staff that we met were incredibly friendly and helpful. They all clearly enjoy the place and the owner seems positively delighted to be able to share his dream with guests. We originally came for two nights and extended our stay to a third night because we enjoyed the place so much. Highly recommended!!!!

Lovely Pousada over looking the lagoon with very friendly staff and a spacious well equipped suite. The room was very large, with sitting areas inside and out plus large bathroom, twin shower and hot tub bath.
Views are great out over the lagoon from its vantage point up on the hill. A short walk out to their win area on the lagoon where you can take the kayaks out and across to the beach.
Food is very tasty but a little limited in choice. Restaurant also has the same stunning views. Good pool and bar area t help you relax.

Room tip: The photos on the website give a very accurate picture of each room to make choosing easier. All gave the great view and are really quiet.
