were too begin.... my wife and i took the travel agents advice when told that the lindos white was a lovely all inclusive hotel and quote 'better than the lindos mare or blue.' we arrived late due to the flight time we were greeted by a man not in uniform or spoke fluent english, who had nothing to say except to state were the lift was, no mention of possible food or water and there was not a sole to be seen,
the lift i could only describe as antique, small, cramped and not something you expect to have to deal with at 12:30 am with no help and suit cases.
we had put our faith in the enthusiastic thompson travel agent and never read the trip advisor, until my brother in law wanted to see our hotel and proceded to read the reviews, mainly negative, i then went back to the agent and was told no no these must be wrong.
so now in the room, very dissapointed, bathroom was disgusting, outdated, and was not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, room layout was poor as couldnt get into the wardrobes due to a table, only 2 bottles of water in the fridge, the room door had no handle on the inside, the noise in the room was utterly horrendouse due to what seemed like an internal waterfall or contant flushing sound (which was nothing compared to other guests who had the generator next to them- and after we moved rooms were offered our previous room!)
in the morning after no sleep, we went onto our see view (at extra cost) balcony, only to find the reception roof protruding upto our eyeline beyond this a substantial piece of wasteland then a few rundown buildings masquerading as rent a car buisness, then a large hotel and then greatly in the distance the sea. physically just being able to see the sea in the distance does not make for a seaview.
a review we read also mentioned being in a farm, and true enough in the early hours we hear the cockerel, and on investigation, directly next to the carpark a stones throw from the restaurant, was an area i would describe as a farm like place with visibly a dozen chickens, turkeys, cockerels, and goats and donkeys were also audible and visible.
the pool with the bridge is down from the hotel on a main road which smelt and with traffic threw up a lot of dust, the bridge you can not cross and all pools are very shallow, the other pool which is up the hill ( the hotel is split in 2 levels the lower is the main with reception etc - we were told by rep the lower is really a 3 star when we complained) is nicer and quieter.
the food.... again were to begin.
my wife is pregnant and struggled to eat much in the restaurant, breakfast was always disapointing, with limited fruit, greasy eggs, uncooked bacon and sausages with lots of grease,
lunch and dinner was basically the same stuff with one main meal changing between each serving, cold pasta, unedible fish dishes, etc and always chips, unfortunately if it wasnt for the chips we wouldnt have eaten much at all, resulting having to eat out most days, which we wanted to avoid and thats why we paid for all inclusive,
and out with main meals utterly ridiculous, no exageration your choice is halve baguette with cheese or lettuce and what looked like spam and you could have that in stale bread or chips!! i have never been so disapointed with a hotel and travel agent as i have with the lindos white and thompson,
we were also told the beach was sandy - all stones and not nice,
also told we could walk into lindos town - no chance you will need a taxi from hotel will cost 12 euros which you would need to do.
the big hotel infront of the lindos white is its sister hotel which is the sentido it looked a lot better has a spa which you can you use but is not up to much and over priced, i paid for a facial for my wife and she had her hair played with for 25 minsutes.
lindos is a lovely place and the hotel almost ruined our experiance of it,
there looks like there is some lovely hotels in lindos
do your research
also
thompson are selling rooms in an unfinished hotel to the left of the white, people are turning up and getting moved to the white unfortunately i can not remember its name but i would avoid thompsons.
overall very bad

Room Tip: if you have to stay stay in new building up the hill, not above reception.

Just returned from a week's stay at this hotel.May 2013. We had a very enjoyable time. Our flight from Leeds/Bradford was very good and the transfer was just over an hour. We arrived about 23.30 local time. The bar was still open then and we could have drinks but only dryish sandwiches were availble, so would suggest something to eat on the plane. We were in the older part of the hotel but the room was modern and clean. We had a view of the garden and the rocky hillside where there were lots of goats and chickens which we enjoyed.
The hotel staff are all very helpful and friendly. There was a lovely ' animation' staff member who was super for the water aerobics, darts, a quiz and a game of table tennis. These were held in and around the pool and bar. This pool was great for swimming. The longer pool was on the higher level below the new suites. This area was very pleasant with lovely sea views of the small bay but the pool was not very deep if you are a good swimmer.
We were all inclusive. The food was great with lots of variety and the vegetables were so tasty you could easily be a vegetarian while you were there, as they were so good and presented in different ways. The soups for lunch and dinner were not to be missed. I wish the sweets had been Greek rather than mousse and cakes with ice cream. The Greek yoghurt with honey was delicious. However, I was not keen on the wine or the lager although many people were drinking them in large quantities.
Our part of the beach had pebbles but if you walked further towards the Lindos headland and the rocks; it was sandy with lots of rocky hideaway nooks which reminded us of Shirley Valentine.!!
The trip to Lindos in the morning and Rhodes town in the afternoon was very good value for money. We had an excellent guide called Paul who had a fountain of historical and religious knowledge. He was lovely to listen to and his English accent was like pure gold.
The pool at the sister hotel on the front was excellent for swimming and we managed to acquire two luxury sunbeds for one afternoon. Here you could buy drinks but prices a little higher than England. The Spa was great for a relaxing massage.
We enjoyed two different Greek nights with super dancers, a Latin dancing evening and a wonderful cello recital from Vasselin, our entertainment's member.
It was a very relaxing and just what we wanted. Night life was available in Lindos and taxis always there. You could also hire a car from this hotel.
All in all for us it was great.

We are staying in the Lindos White at the moment for a week. We flew from Birmingham with Thomson and arrived 1 hour after transfer. Vlycha is a very quiet little village, there is a sister hotel across the road which you can use but food and drink are chargeable. There's a spa there too. Beach isn't up to much but there are 2 hotel pools, ample beds and quiet atmosphere. The food is good and varied, if you fancy a change there is the Rotundas restaurant 200 metres down the road to the right. Taxis to Lindos 8 euros, there's a taxi stop on the left of the hotel about 100 metes down, you'll see signs to a hut on the right. Taxis are pretty regular in the mornings. There's a bar down the road near the restaurant and a little shop, stocks all basics. Bring bug spray, there are Mosquitos. There is free wifi here, just ask at reception. We are staying in the older part of the hotel, rooms are fine with balcony and mini fridge. No kettle or mugs so if you like a cuppa in the morning on your balcony bring a travel kettle. We are hiring scar for a day €45 plus fuel, all insurances included. Overall great value for money and a nice quiet break. Don't come here if you want bars and nightclubs, it's very quiet, although the pool bars get busy in the evenings!!!

We stayed at Lindos White Hotel and Suites 1st may- 9th May 2013.
On entering our suite we were more than delighted with it, very modern and clean and spacious,
We had wonderful weather ,although it started blowing up a bit as we were leaving to come home, and rain was forecast,
our holiday was the first week of the season, it was not crowded, and at times seemed as though we were the only ones there, pool was empty most of the time,
we had some lovely evenings sat by the pool with other holiday makers,
Our Thanks go to the English waitress in the dining room , she was very friendly, helpful, she worked very hard, and she even came out to see us off on the day of departure, and then there was Oliver the barman , who worked at the top pool,(by the suites), he always had a smile on his face, and was very friendly.
The Lindos White Hotel and Suites is situated 2 minutes from the beach, 1 minute from another hotel which has a mini market that you can use, you can also use it's facilities,( but remember if you want food or drink you have to pay, as it does not come under all inclusive), This hotel is right on the beach, and has spa treatment on offer, which was lovely I had exfoliation and chocolate massage , if you book 2 treatments you get discount, plus Lindos White Hotel gave us voucher to use,my 2 treatments cost 80 euros.
There is also a bigger mini market just up the road where they sell everything you need on holiday,
Car hire is very cheap, you can book inside the hotel, also motor bike hire is just 2 minute walk away,
Lindos Town is just a bus ride away, or a short taxi ride,If you call for a taxi it cost 12 euros , if you go to the taxi rank it will cost 8 euros, (but there is never a taxi there) coming back from Lindos a taxi will cost 8 euros,
Lindos is a very small Town with a population of about 1,000, It is the best archaeological site in Rhodes, with the famous Acropolis, and alley ways , lots of shops, mostly holiday clothes, sandals, hats, paintings,(usual holiday stuff).lovely little churches, and lovely sandy beach,
Lindos is about 50 km southwest of Rhodes, and at Rhodes there is not one, BUT two towns to see, the old and the new, I loved the old, lovely shops, (some designer shops),
We went on trips pre-booked when I booked holiday at first choice,
We went to Symi for a day trip, it has the most beautiful harbour in Greece, and a wonderful monastery at Panormitis, you can even catch a boat trip over to Marmaris (Turkey) from there,
Lindos White Hotel and suites, had everything we wanted for this holiday, it was central for our trips, lovely clean spacious suite, and the food was really good too,
Wasn't happy about the spiders and beetles, and grasshoppers, but we were told it was the time of year, (just like we in England have a time when spiders come out),
Sorry this is quite a long review , but there is so much to say about this place,

Room Tip: The suites are lovely, over looking pool is best otherwise you are just looking at dried mud with a few trees,

Have just spent a week at the Lindos.Booked as a last minute deal ,really good price so it was good value. We had a junior suite the room was great huge ,nice super king bed great bathroom loads of space.
It's location is pretty isolated and after a nice week I was ready to come home.
Sadly a few things let it down, while we had a great low season week in high season someone staying then might not have such a good expierience.
The dinning room is a bit on the small side and while the food was better than the average buffet style, there wasn't enough seating and and the end of the week they struggled to get plates out at times.
Again in peak season there isn't enough sunbeds/poolspace.Go to the beach?weakest part, shingle beach with some very old sunbeds. The other negative is that all the all inclusive bars are outside.
If you want a drink in the only bar inside your expected to pay .
When we were there lots of people were getting eaten by mossies take deet lots of it.
The common areas are open with grasshoppers and spiders ! you have been warned.
Would I go back? May or September, for a week definatly. For more than that or at peak season no .
The best bit? Oliver makes a mean cocktail.
