First time to Lesvos so wasn't sure what to expect for 3* Hotel given mixed experiences across Europe. This is a wonderful, friendly, clean and comfortable hotel with a light and spacious feel to communal areas and good sized bedrooms.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly - Efi on the front desk and Costas at the bar deserve a big thank you as does the cleaning lady who made the room spotless everyday.

The breakfast was good with a wide choice of cereals, breads, cold meats and cheeses, fruit and yogurt. Eggs, beans and sausage were also on offer if that's your thing. Didn't have the evening meals as there is a good range of choice in Skala Kalloni (5mins walk along the beachfront) but i'm told at 12 Euro's it was good value.

Have already booked again for next year and can't wait to get back.

Room Tip: For any birwatchers ask for a first floor room facing the front overlooking Kalloni Pool.

This was our his 6th visit to Lesvos and our first this hotel. The hotel has the friendliest, most helpful staff we've ever had. The breakfast was mostly continental with omelettes or fried eggs sausages or bacon and baked beans and lots of fruit and bread and cakes. A 3 course dinner is offered for 12 Euros which is good value and we enjoyed it a couple of times but mostly we ate out in the village of Scala Kalloni. A special thank-you to Efi, Tina, Mr. George (manager) Kostas bar man and Stratoula the smiliest and most hard working waitress we've ever met, nothing was too much trouble for her or any of the staff. A big thank you to all the cleaners for our spotless room. We can't wait to return next year. Only one small minus was the tiny shower and shower tray but this is normal in Greece.

The Kalloni Bay Hotel is not only the perfect base from which to discover the beautiful island of Lesvos, it probably has the best range of food from all the other nearby hotels and a staff that are not only friendly but also cannot do enough to make your stay very welcome.

I would recommend this hotel to any birdwatchers trying to decide where to stay in Skala Kalloni.

I cannot wait to return

Room Tip: No real tips on rooms but obviously those that look out the front of the hotel have better views

We have been staying at this hotel every Spring for the last 12 years. We've always enjoyed its friendly atmosphere. The staff are lovely and helpful and we are always greeted with a kiss by the maids when we first arrive! feels like we are amongst friends. The new manager and the owners have taken charge over the last two years to rejuvenate the place.

The rooms are being slowly re-freshed tho the bathrooms are pretty basic, but always clean. The front ones have great views over Kalloni Pool and the sea. The breakfasts are sufficient, with lovely fresh bread, eggs cheese, ham etc. In the evenings the salad selection is great, they try hard with the main course but it's seems difficult to keep them hot. We usually walk into Skala Kalloni to one of the Tavernas. Our favourite one is the Heliotrope, even tho Yannis does drop sweat into your food as he rushes round trying to serve everyone by himself!

Lots of birdwatching groups stay here so it's useful to read the birding log and hear what people have seen so that we can plan our day. Every year we see lots of familiar faces as other birdwatchers and lovers of Lesbos return to the hotel like we do,

I definitely recommend this hotel and the island of Lesbos, which we love in Spring for its variety of birds, beautiful orchids, lovely scenery and friendly people. The only thing I don't like are the number of neglected stray dogs and cats and dogs chained in barrels in the middle of no-where, to stop the sheep roaming.

This was our first holiday since our son was born just under 1 year ago. We wanted some where peacfull with no nightlife to keep him awake. This is what we got, The hotel is a 5 minute walk away from the harbour and resturaunts so close but not close enough to here every ones late night chatting. The beach is in front of the hotel and the sea is very pleasant. The beach itself is sand but it is also made up of ciggarette ends and other rubish you would not want to see. Howether, this is about the hotel. the pool area is a good size but the childrens pool is rather deep and very cold we spent most of our time in the sea. The rooms are an ok size but the bathroom is tiny. there is a TV there but unless you are Greek or German you are limited to BBC news24. The shower had no Pressure and the curtain was held up by a piece of wire as the pole was broken. The fridge was a little rusty but worked so that was good for the water. The rooms were cleaned every day and they did spend a lot of time on each room to make sure they were done properly. The bed sheets where changed twice in one week which is not great when you consider how much you sweat in the night. The aircon was great for the day but it was to cold for my son at night so we had to cook. Breakfast was good and the coffee was very good which suprised me. The staff at this hotel rival any 5 star accomodation i have stayed in. Most hotels have staff that smile because its there job. This hotel the staff really are happy and they are more than happy to play with the kids and have a chat with you. The childrens play area needs some bad attention and after a lick of paint and some minor repairs done this hotel could be a little cracker!

Room Tip: If you have small children make sure you request a ground floor room before you go. We arrived with...

My first time in Greece and im already planning to come back!!
Couldn't have chose a better hotel, rooms were spotless and the staff were all so friendly, always there if you needed something and happy to do so. The breakfast and pool bar food was absolutely lovely, lots of choice.

I'm 17 and was on holiday with my cousin who is also the same age. Staying in skala kallonis gave us the nice relaxing holiday we were after and the nights we did fancy going for a drink, Petra and Molyvos were only a bus or taxi ride away.

Not much else to say.. highly recommend staying here though!!
