“Perfect for a group of friends”
Reviewed December 8, 2015 for a stay in December 2015

We are a group of eight friends and this accommodation suited us perfectly. The house is very clean, warm, spacious and well equipped. There was a very generous welcome pack when we arrived which was much appreciated. The furnishings are of a high standard and the beds are very comfortable. There are lovely views over the river and one day we walked along the towpath into Bath which took about 50 minutes. There is a bus stop close by and we did get a bus into Bath , but it doesn't cost much more to share a taxi if you are a group. The owner Sheila was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

“Perfect place for a family or group!”
Reviewed September 1, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had a great month here! This was a perfect place for us to stay while we researched our family history. There was plenty of room for family to join us during the month. A bus in to Bath was so convenient, or we could walk in to Bath along the canal. The house and kitchen were well equipped . Since we didn't feel like cooking, however, there were several nearby Pubs we could walk to. Sheila and her staff were helpful, cheerful and accommodating. Our month long stay in the U.K. couldn't have been better.

“Good base for exploring bath and somerset”
Reviewed June 9, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Nice space with balcony and hot tub although the village is lacking in most amenities. Lovely community shop and cafe across the roundabout in bathford though. And great pub to walk to in bathampton.
Bit noisy next to the main roads and a train line so don't expect tranquility!

Management Response

Batheaston village has, in my opinion, got reasonably good facilities. Excellent bus services into Bath, a Medical centre & chemist, a small mini supermarket for every day requirements, a hairdresser, a vet, a fish and chip shop/cafe, a childrens playground, two pubs and a gym. For a Village that size Im not sure how much more people want?

Regarding traffic noise, yes at certain times of the day the road does get busy but we are situated within a 10 min drive of the City and I like to think we have the best of both worlds, Riverside setting with views across a nature reserve, lovely walks in the local area - Salisbury Hill with views right across the City but not off the beaten track and miles from any facilities. I dont advertise the property as being in a quiet, tranquil country setting but with the whole property double glazed no one ever complains of noise.

All the positive comments much appreciated but I feel i have to disagree about the comments regarding the local facilities.

Excellent place to stay. Travelled with my sister-in-laws and there husbands, there were 6 of us in total which meant we all each had a bed and bathroom . The dinning area is massive with a lovely table to sit round and chat. Living room a good size. Kitchen had everything you needed.

Welcome pack was a lovely touch along with the shower gels and hand soaps. Towels were included, these, along with the bedding were of lovely quality.

The hot tub was a great treat and gowns were also included.

Thank you

We enjoyed a lovely weekend stay at this very clean and well equipped house. The layout of the 4 bedrooms suited our families perfectly and the welcome pack provided by Sheila was certainly a nice touch. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a holiday rental in the Bath area.

We rented the apartments to celebrate a 40th birthday, and they were absolutely perfect for our requirements. This is really high quality self catering because Sheila really has thought of everything. Our welcome pack included cake, wine, bread, milk, fresh fruit, biscuits - the heating was on and lights too to make us feel instantly welcome. Sheila was very informative and helpful, offering advice on things to see and do and there is wealth of information inside the apartment too. The rooms were very comfortable and there was loads of room. The hot tub was brilliant fun and the best bit about it was a beautiful riverside location with very easy access to Bath. A 5 sweater taxi was about £12 but it was right on the bus route too so very easy to get around. Highly recommended for a group holiday as there is great shared living space in a fab location.

Stayed with friends, Sheila really helpful and welcome pack great. Has hot tub in garden, and plenty of room for 8 people. Immaculate, and comfortable. You can walk into Bath along the tow path from here - takes about an hour but a lovely walk on a dry day. Note that the local taxi companies are not very good at finding it, so remember to keep your directions with you if you go out! Will return.
