“Excellent value. Close to beach. Clean”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

Great value for money. Very short walk to beach. (200-300m). Cleaned 3 times in 7 days so that's good. Friendly staff. Nice pool. Wi fi in some areas but not in my room. Kind of liked that actually! Heartedly recommended.

Angelica ,Spiros and Anna made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived, with the food at dinner being absolutely delicious. The hotel is in a nice location, only a short walk from the beach. The pool is also really nice. The rooms are perfectly nice and clean, albeit the bed was a little and the hard side for (but I prefer a soft bed, so perhaps this isn't a fair criticism).

The bottom line: this is a lovely hotel and we'd stay again!

It would be hard to find a better value family-run hotel. It's clean, well located, has a restaurant and a pool and the rooms are spacious and airy and have safes. It's also really inexpensive and you feel the impact of that in narrow beds that only a Spartan would describe as firm, the rest of us would call them hard. The shower rooms are beautifully clean, well tiled and have everything you need including plentiful hot water, but the shower stall is small and the curtain is inadequate and has a tendancy to stick to you. I was given a key to my room safe for free but found that the blades had been taken off the ceiling fan in my room. As it was rarely below 30 degC (at the end of August), a fan would have been nice. I could have paid 5 Euros extra per day and had the air conditioning turned on but, feeling gyped about the fan, I didn't.
The food in the in-house restauarant is good family cooking and the prices are fair. The pool is clean and the loungers and umberellas sufficient, but the surrounding environment is a unrelieved concrete. The location is good, close enough to the centre of the village to be an easy walk to shops, other restaurants and the beach but far enough from the bars to be quiet at night. It's great value if you don't plan on spending a huge amount of time in your room or all day at the hotel, but if you want somewhere to rest and relax you may find the little comforts that make a difference are lacking. The clientele is majority Dutch, some German and minority English. Anna (the help) speaks five languages, so you're pretty much guaranteed to be understood. If you're happy with a no-frills hotel then this will meet all basic needs perfectly adequately.

Room Tip: Ask to face away from the road towards the valley as it'll be quieter and cooler.

We've just returned from our holiday to Agios Gordios Corfu. This was our first trip to Corfu and our decision to stay at the Angelica Hotel was an absolute winner. The hotel owner Spiros and his wife Angelica together with their assistant Anna could not have done more to make our holiday enjoyable. They exude a genuine friendliness which probably explains why so many visitors return to this little gem of a hotel.

The location of the hotel is excellent being close to the bus stop, minimarkets, restaurants and other amenities. We dined at the hotel for our evening meal on three occasions and found the traditional Greek dishes excellent..Anna was a great help in explaining what we would be eating before we ordered.

The hotel is kept in immaculate condition and the rooms are cleaned to a high standard. The small pool is in a nice secluded area with plenty loungers and sun shades.

We are looking forward to our next visit

Just returned from a very relaxing week at the Angelica, Spiros & Angelica work very hard, not forgetting Anna, the flying Dutchwoman, who also works hard, the apartments are handily placed 50 yards from Geebee's mini market , which stocked most things you'd need, and about 200 yards from the beach, all along the street to the beach are many shops and tavernas, there are also quite a few tavernas and bars on the beach, we used Sebastians(twice) Thalassa(on the beach), and ate twice at Angelica, who's food was very good, and very reasonably priced, all in all another very relaxing week, and very hot, apart for the Thursday night prior to leaving , about 7.30pm there was a thunderstorm, which lasted through till Friday morning, what a show, to be fair they needed the rain as it hadn't rained for about 4 months, we were subsequently delayed at the airport but only for about an hour and a half, I was expecting a much longer delay, recommended.

My partner and I stayed 15 days in Corfu. Upon arrival at the hotel our mouths fell open: what a breathtaking view! Beach, restaurants and supermarkets are within walking distance. The Dutch Anna is always willing to make a chat and is a real joke maker! Every thursday evening there is a barbecue at the hotel (€ 15, -). Because our schedule was different from our previous planning it was difficult to return in time for the barbecue, so we cancelled the same morning. The reaction of the owner Spiros was extremely coarse and rude. Since then he has remained very anti-social towards us.

Beautiful rooms! The rooms were cleaned every day. Linens and towels were changed twice a week.

First trip to Angelica was a package holiday with 2 teenagers, Spiros and Angelica made everyone welcome.
Second visit was an independant trip with 1 teenager, the most warm welcome. Spotless rooms and Anna(the bar lady /cook speaks at least 4 languages fluently) is a diamond.
Third visit, couple only, independant booking, again a most warm welcome, everything was just the same, excellent accomodation, just enough space from the village to be soooo quiet but within walking distance of bars, tavernas etc but if you wanted to eat at the hotel there was no problem Angelica's food is delicious.
We will be there again
