“Wonderful holiday”

We stayed at the Villa Ivi for a full week in early September. In addition to my husband & I, we had our 2 kids (8 & 4). This is an absolutely gorgeous villa in a picturesque little village Megalochori on the breathtakingly beautiful island of Santorini.

The villa is literally carved into the earth -cave house- and so traditionally unique, yet very well equipped with modern amenities. There are 2 bedrooms (the master bedroom especialy is very spacious and perfect in every little detail), 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchenette with everything you need, a lovely little jacuzzi and plenty of outdoor space to lounge, eat meals in or simply enjoy the fresh air. Housekeeping services are included. In addition, the concierge, a charming lady called Ester, can arrange for a variety of additional services like massages in the villa, restaurant reservations and boat cruises from the nearby ports.

I cannot say enough nice things about Ester the concierge! We arrived much earlier than the check-in time, but she went out of her way to get the villa ready for us quickly after the previous occupants had checked out, understanding that we had little kids with us. She was always available, very responsive and incredibly helpful. She reconfirmed dinner reservations and even snagged us a private boat cruise at the last minute at a good price.

The location is really what makes this villa worth it. Megalochori is a quiet little village far from the hustle and bustle of bigger towns like Oia & Fira, but much closer to the beautiful beaches on the south side of the island. Although it is not on the caldera, you don't miss it as you are never too far from it. The peace and quiet of the location is interrupted only by church bells from the many beautiful churches in the village and the sound of people laughing and talking & music playing at the many little restaurants in the village square. By the end of our week, we had got to know the locals a bit & it felt like home!

If you are looking for nightlife and crowds, this is not the place for you but if you want to taste a slice of rural life in Santorini, and experience something that takes you back a few hundred years, book this place now!

It also helps that one of the more popular wineries in Santorini (Gavalas winery) is literally 20 steps away from the villa! :-)

“Great location, could use a little TLC”
Reviewed August 10, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Our family of 5 stayed in the villa for 3 nights. The location is wonderful -- a quaint town with shops and restaurants. you do need a car as there is not much within walking distance and you really want to see the island. The concierge is lovely and accomodating. The problems that we had with the villa were the stench in the master bathroom -- it smelled wet and moldy the whole time, there was a dehumidifier so it is a problem. However it does nothing with the smell. We also come back one evening and found the bathroom flooded from a leaking faucet (and also found that the house had not even been cleaned!). After starting to mop the floor, we called Ester and she sent someone to see if it could be fixed and to finish cleaning the floor.
The house is a breeding ground for mosquitoes! I have never seen so many in my life. We might has well have been camping. My son one morning had 17 bites on his arm and 8 on his face! I must have killed 40 one evening and could have continued. And the dead mosquito carcasses were never cleaned up and were there the whole time. The need to just fumigate the place and install screens. It pretty much ruined our stay there.

“So authentic and relaxing”

We have just got back from spending a week in this lovely Villa. The pictures do not capture the ambience of this property, it really is so relaxing. Set under the church (no bells ring!) as you enter this lovely traditional village. The welcoming courtyard with jacuzzi and sun loungers was perfect for late afternoon day trip return chill outs soaking up the sun well into the ltd evening.
The accommodation is clean and serviced everyday. Comfortable beds and a kitchen dining area should you wish to eat in, or even alfresco in the pretty courtyard.
The location was great, the village has number of restaurants, we tried them all out. And it is situated not far from Fira and the airport with easy access to the beach locations in the south. Ester arranged our semi private yacht day out, that is one you must try. And the owner kindly allowed us to have a late check out as our flight back wasn't until early evening.
Thank you for letting us tay in your lovely Villa, whilst we were there we showed some other tourists round the villa, I think they also fell in love with it just as we did, and I am sure you will get further bookings for this delightful Villa, it really was a very special holiday. Thank you

Location, location location! We loved Megalochori village. It was peaceful and authentic. Not very touristy, so exactly our taste. The villa was clean, very well put together. The owner suggested renting a car and we are glad we followed on her advice. Friendly staff. Overall a great experience. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

“Beautiful villa at an amazing location”

Stayed there for four nights with my wife and our baby girl. We had high expectations of this place and we weren't disappointed. It was a lovely home with clean and spacious rooms. The location was amazing. Located in a picturesque small village with a beautiful square and various restaurants to visit. Eleftheria was helpful with restaurant recommendations, things to do and arranging a car rental. The staff was attentive, yet not intrusive. We felt taken care off and enjoyed our time time the most out of our entire trip to Greece. We would love to go back one day.
