“Beautiful view!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

We got this hotel as part of a groupon deal where we were given a massage included, which was very good! The view over the caldera was spectacular and beautiful to look over whilst sunbathing. The pool bar and cafe was really good with great quality of food and our room was big and clean. However, the room decoration could perhaps do with being refreshed and the fridge was not very cold and the shower made the whole bathroom floor wet. Although not a central location the buses are very regular and cheap and the main town of Fira is only 10 minutes away and if you are travelling home late from Fira, taxis were only around £10 euros. I would not say that this hotel was 4 star however, the view is absolutely breathtaking and definitely makes your stay worthwhile, I would return here on another trip!

We have just returned from 3 nights at Artemis Suites. I take on board what others have said and would agree that this is not 4 star but it is good value for money if you get an internet price. Rooms are a bit tired and colours are a bit out there; fridge not cold. The locaton was the big thing for us, right on the edge of the caldera. Great for sunsets. It is also midway on the island, far enough away from the tourist bustle of Thira and Oia, and just up the road from the beach at Perivolos. We hired a car one day to get around to the other tourist spots but otherwise got around by bus which passed close by. Aleksandr and Elene were great. Food and drinks from the Poolside bar and eatery were very reasonably priced. For what we got for the price we were very happy. We would have been paying a lot more in Oia or Imervogli.

too expensive for the service! rooms are old with horrible furniture, bathroom is so small and everything but modern.
Breakfast is done with bad products, the cheapest....
Only a few of the employees are nice and the spot is nice if you would like to stay out of the turism

If you are looking to escape a production line holiday, then this is the place. The few number of rooms ensure there is no jostling for position at breakfast, no worrying about securing a sunbed and most importantly no hassle.
Set in the most stunning of locations you can do nothing but relax, the staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The spa treatments were fantastic and very reasonable.
We had an amazing break, and are already looking forward to next year.

we had misfortune to stay here for 6 nights in june. booked through secret Escapes - and still waiting to hear back from them! - be warned. this is not a luxury 4* hotel - it is a poor 3*. it has not been extensively upgraded - it has had a lick of paint. i know that it is Greece but tiny showers with nylon curtains are not normal in good hotels. bathroom was constantly soaked. staff were pleasant and obviously used to complaints - often new arrivals were shown other rooms. bedrooms clean. pool area small - not too many there so not a problem. local area ok and some nice restaurants in megalochori. hotel one was not good - breakfast was poor, my daughter was served greek salad with no cheese and next day the tomatoes were forgotten!!! i had to teach girl how to make an americano coffee! no-one ate there more than once - lovely views and if good would be booked out. spa very minimal - curtained off area outside. my advise is to avoid unless you get it for 39 euro - the cheapest rate when we were there - we paid well over 100/night.

Room Tip: go elsewhere!!

We have just returned from a lovely weeks holiday in Santorini. We booked Artemis Suites through Voyage Prive which described the hotel as "luxury boutique" but unfortunately on arrival we could not agree with that description. Having said that I do not want to discourage anyone from booking a holiday here. The staff were lovely and very helpful. They all genuinely wanted us to enjoy our time there. We had upgraded to a Caldera view suite and yes we had a fantastic view of the sunsets from our balcony( which was up a spiral staircase) but the room only had a small window with a side view of the village.
The shower room was really inadequate for a hotel that wants to be a "boutique" hotel. Surely gone are the days when your bathroom floor becomes flooded every time you have a shower .This was due to the shower curtain(!) not being long enough. The bathroom was so small we had trouble squeezing between the toilet and basin.( We are actually both quite small so it would be difficult if you were over 6 feet and of large build!).The other slightly negative point was that there was little variety at breakfast. The Greek yoghurt was lovely but it was served with tinned peaches. Fresh would have been so much nicer. The bread was really fresh every day and the position of the breakfast area fantastic. It was lovely to eat breakfast looking out at the caldera.
That is the downside, now for all of the good points. This hotel really has one of the best positions on the whole island.Even the 5* hotels nearer to Fira would struggle to better the view! It was very quite and peaceful and the views from the pool area are stunning. The local bus service is good so getting into Fira and going to the local beaches is easy.We hired a car for 2 days but could have possibly done without with buses and taxis being easily available. The hotel is kept very clean and we loved having fresh towels daily and pool towels were always available.
The village of Megalachori was just what we had hoped for. There are 3 really good restaurants there and the whole place had a nice feel about it.It really is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
We certainly recommend the walk from Fira to Oia.Start early or after 4pm as there is little shade. The views are stunning and we hardly met anyone else .Well worth the effort.
Please do not be put off booking this hotel, it really is in a spectacular setting with very welcoming staff. With a few changes and attention to details this could be truly up there with the best of them. This is all meant to be constructive criticism so we hope the management will look carefully at our comments.

We are traveling on a budget and generally look for accommodation out from the main cities so we are not paying high prices. We look for the basics including breakfast. With Artemis Suites we were on cloud nine. Loved the location, it was ideal for what we like. The staff were just fantastic. Although we had booked a basic room it exceeded our expectations. The setting was just lovely and we were very sad to leave. If I had to pick one negative it was just the towels were rough and hard, that aside there are no complaints here but it really does depend on what you expect for your money.

Room Tip: If you want a balcony ask for an upper room but we were on lower level and stepped out the door to t...
