“Would not stay here again”

This hotel on the outside is very cute and quaint. The breakfast in the morning isn't bad and there's a nice pool. However, our room was more like a motel 8. It was fine for servicing it's purpose of needing a place to stay…however, for a nice retreat away from home, this is hardly luxury.

Our first visit to the Ardennes area (a very accessible, Dordogne-like region that we had overlooked in the past) consisted of a very enjoyable short stay at this delightful hotel. Much character, spacious room, friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food in hotel with brasserie and pizzeria over the road for alternative and less expensive choices. Pool much appreciated too. Minor faults (unresponsive air con and noisy main road at times - ask for a room at the back!) did not detract from an enjoyable stay in this lovely region which we saw at its best weather-wise!

Room Tip: rooms at the back will be quieter

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The swimming pool and sauna were not maintained and very filthy. Rooms were small and not very hygienic. Worst of all, you expect a quiet environment, but we didn't sleep well because of the noise. Also outside as there is a ballroom next door. Only the reception girl was very frienly, the boss didn't even had the manners to say hello. Restaurant food is poor quality, not fresh. This hotel was a big disappointment, we left earlier than expected, because we were stressed and tired.

Very important for us was that we could bring our dog along which was not a problem at all in this hotel. The dog was allowed everywhere in the hotel, also restaurants. The location of the hotel and restaurants is very nice and cozy. The room was ok, some negative points were: the tv did not always work properly and only at the end we saw on the bill that we had to pay €13 a night for the dog. The service was excellent though, they were always friendly and helpfull.

Good location and value for money, proved to be an ideal spot to break our journey. Good choice of restaurants to eat in which avoids having to travel to nearby town of Dinant in search of food.
Room was quiet, on the back of the building overlooking the stream and fields.
Indoor pool was clean and pleasant to swim in.

Stayed there for a family reunion in Summer -- was not the one who picked location/hotel, but was happy with the choice and would happily stay again. Our room was in the annex across a small road from the hotel. Little traffic on that road but road is curvy, reducing visibility so crossing can be tricky: families with young children may prefer to request the main building. Large rooms by European standards, modern furniture in the annex (did not pay attention to rooms in the main building). Tennis courts and indoor swimming pool ensure that, come rain or shine, kids can be entertained. Food was fine, though the standards in Belgium are high so this was a bit of a disappointment. Nice terrace for outdoor lunch. Among the activities in the area, I recommend the citadel in Dinant (very nice view of the Meuse valley, impressive ride up on the "teleferique") and the "Draisines" (self-propelled small railroad vehicles).
