We were 8 people staying at the La Reserve Hotel from 10 - 14 May 2012. We done our reservations through Nathalie. She was so friendly and reply immediately on requests. From our arrival till departure we felt SPECIAL! What a beautiful resort! The staff were so friendly!! Snorkelling was great! Food was great! Rooms and bathrooms AWESOME! Our rooms was nearly on the beach. What a beaufiful view and amazing sunsets! My father in-law's birthday was 13 May. They must have seen it with check-in in his passport. That night at dinner the lights dimmed, and they surprised him with a cake! THANK YOU TO LA RESERVE HOTEL. YOU MADE MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST FOREVER!

We stayed at La Reserve for our honeymoon from 06 May 2012 to 10 May 2012 and we can confidently say that this resort is the greatest honeymoon destination on earth. The rooms were exceptional with the largest bathrooms you will ever get anywhere on earth. The service at the restaurant, bar, reception, room-service etc were all exceptional and this made us feel like royalty during our stay.

We also did the the excursions (La-Digue island on Monday and Curieuse island on Wednesday including swimming and snorkelling) and these were great fun. If you stay at La Reserve, please make a point of taking part in the excursions - they are heavenly. We fondly remember the nature walk at Curieuse after the barbeque followed by a swim - magical. The guide, Ron, is a great guy and he was always on hand to help us out.

As has been mentioned in other reviews, there is a village approximately 10 minutes down the road and you can get good restaurants and souvenir shops. It was also a good way for us to absorb the natural beauty of Praslin taking in the fresh air and admiring the green natural vegetation - it was wonderful.

The food was also great with sumptuous breakfasts and buffet dinners. We were on half-board so we ate lunches on the inter-island excursions to La Digue and Curieuse and also when we walked to the village.

One thing you will notice that there were many couples at La Reserve either on honeymoon like us, celebrating anniversaries or probably dating with only a few families with very well-behaved kids. We believe that it is very ideal for couples.

We strongly recommend La Reserve and we will definitely be heading back to commemorate several of our wedding anniversaries in the future. Well Done La Reserve!!!!

Linda & Daniel

Room Tip: We had the deluxe room on the hill-side but we loved it all the same - it is actually the very ground-floor room that appears on www.justseychelles.com - Praslin - La Reserve Hotel and it was accessible to the reception, restaurant, beach and the snorkelling gear room. But in overall, all the rooms are great. You might prefer the 4 superior rooms right at the beachfront but we really liked our room.

I am honoured that you consider us as the Greatest honeymoon destination on earth - Such high praise! Thank you so much for this, I am actually speechless!
We consider ourselves very fortunate to be located where we are and to have the set up that we have. It has taken us many years of hard work to be able to achieve this and its all down to the great staff that we have. They are what make this place truly special.
We all look forward to welcome you back for one of your anniversaries in the not too distant future.

Kind regards from Sunny Praslin,

Peter

Highly recommend La Reserve. Its very private and located in a quiet, tranquil area of the island, but within walking distance of shops and restaurants. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very comfortable and the service was excellent. The staff made an effort to get to know you and we felt like royalty the whole time. The food was excellent and yummy, there was a good variation of a la carte and buffet. The hotel arranged activities were also very good and were less expensive than the tour operators. We used the local bus on a number of occasions which was fun. La Reserve is an ideal honeymoon location and forgot to mention that the snorkeling is worldclass and its on your doorstep. Thanks also to Selvern the bar manager for making our stay so memorable. Stuart and Izelle

Everything you would hope for in a Seychelles hotel! We arrived tired after being on safari in Kenya and were disappointed to be in the hillside superior rooms. There are only 4 beachfront superior and it's the luck of the draw whether you get beach front or hillside. I would definitely spend the extra money for the deluxe rooms. Peter, the owner, was nice enough to upgrade us for 2 of our 4 nights and comp us a free dinner. Our trip was sandwiched between the 2 shark attacks so we were still able to snorkel and dive. Snorkeling in the cove right in front of the hotel was amazing!! Excursions to la Curieuse and sunset cruise were both awesome. We did not book full board and walked a short way to restaurants in town which were lovely and not as expensive. If money is no object, book full board as the jetty restaurant is beautiful!

We stopped in a deluxe room. Very clean and large. The bathroom / dressing room was excellent really big with plenty of room. A lovely 4 poster although the beds were hard the linen was like velvet. We had a large veranda which was restful after a day out. The staff were lovely and kept smiles on their faces after dealing with "difficult" customers. The beach is a bit disappointing however, if you walk 10mins down the road, you come across a few hotels, diving centres, restaurants and small shop with a beautiful beach. If you cut on the beach when you get to the dive centre it is a lot quicker and nicer than the road. The hotel is worth the money, the food was tasty, we booked half board and stopped for 4 nights. We had a buffet the first night, then BBQ, then served 5 course meals for the next 2 nights. The breakfast was good also but the tea is strange so if you like a nice cuppa, there is various speciality tea bags including English breakfast just pick up them and get hot water. The big thing that spoilt it for me and indeed the Seychelles was the rude, bad mannered ignorant French, unbelievable.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are the same, all lovely
