“great restaurant on a great spot”
Reviewed March 1, 2010

great luxury style of the hotel. The hotel hall was stunningly done. Very spacious and arty. Beautiful. Didn't check the rooms, but their location ON the beach and view over the beach and ocean is great. Most other hotels on this stretch of the coast are located just off the beach, with a small road between them and the beach. Not these rooms! We had dinner twice here and were very pleased.
Worth checking this hotel out when you plan to stay on Praslin.

We have been staying there for the first night of our honeymoon, as our booked hotel was full. Please do consider this review, as it is: based on a one-night only stay!

To me the Hotel is laid out nicely between street and beach. Beautiful design especially on the inside. We had room No. 1 with direct access to the beach! Within minutes after arrival I was swimming in the Indian Ocean.

Furniture is all Italian, very good looking, but not as easy to use. As we entered the room it smelled a little rotten. Something in there does not seem to be built for the tropic climate. This is not a big problem as the smell went away within some hours.

Breakfast was not as good as hoped for, but the restaurant with sand floor, full of sunlight, was an experience.

Concerning Value: As we were put in here by the "Duc de Praslin", my valuation is based on the Superior Room rate of the "Duc". I do not know the original rates.

We only ate at the Village, but ended up eating lunch there most days, and dinner sadly only once. Fantastic location. Lovely entrance and lobby. Fabulous service, and very very friendly and helpful staff. The seabass was the freshest, tastiest, and best-cooked and presented of any we tasted anytime during our time in the Seychelles. Everything we tried on the menu was wonderful, but we kept going back to the seabass; which incidentally was half the price of that at other restaurants. On our next trip we will most certainly stay here due to it's gorgeous location as well as all of the above.
