Le Nautile

Small but very friendly and very posh. A real boutique hotel, full of charm, for romantic couples (not for children).
Location: Perfect. On one of the best spots of the best beach of the island, lined with tamarind trees, direct access on the beach. Water in the lagoon is crystal clear (but old in austral winter!). All restaurants of Saline and Hermitage within easy reach. Saint-Gilles is 5 minutes driving.
Food: breakfast is simply perfect, and starts very early (earlier than 6:00 AM on request).
Restaurant at lunch and dinner is very elegant, no buffet food, just well prepared a la carte dishes. It misses only some light snack options like sandwiches for a quick lunch. Bar is not exceptional.
Rooms: two small buildings, perpendicular to the beach, one over the reception-entrance and one directly on the beach across the small pool. Choose a room with seaside view and your holiday will be fantastic! Rooms are small but nice, all with a terrace behind an all-glass window.
Spotless clean, nice Creole decor (would only suggest to repaint all scratched doors), nice personnel! A real jewel!

Room Tip: Sea-view rooms

Hotel with two buildings, with pool bar and restaurant in the between. After the second building the amazing sandy beach starts immedately.
It is suggested to ask accomodation in the building that is between the sea and the pool. (rooms starting with nr. 1xx). In case you have problems with airco make sure you have your room on the 1st floor or the 2nd floor then you can make it without airco during the day/night.
In high season sea sight room is probably a must in case you want silence and peace in the evening. In low season (as now) there is a very few noise from pool side in the evening.
Nice sized room with bathroom, the bathroom has a hair dryer and a tube. Room has a double bed with TV and small fridge.
Rooms are clean and tidy, the whole hotel is also clean. Nice creol atmosphere.
Supermarket is walking distance, also there is a nice bar on the beach 2 minutes walking.
The hotel is absolutely to be recommended.
