We had our wedding reception at Mandraki Village at the end August 2010, and it was such a fantastic setting. The staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble and the service were excellent. They made our day so very special!
The venue is fabulous, with it's boutique interior design and contemporary feel it really is special. The food was great, we had 40 guests and all of them were astounded by the quality.
The rooms are gorgeous! We have stayed in quite a few 4 star hotels on the island but this really is a 4 star hotel. They supply you with all the little luxuries and comforts! Breakfast in the morning is also great, definitely more than expected.
Thank you Mandraki - it was just amazing!!!

We have just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by staying at the Mandraki village. The hotel was modernised in 2007/8 but still retains a fresh clean image. The staff are charming especially Vasiliki on reception who always greets everybody as a long lost friend.
The hotel is situated near the famous Koukounaries beach and not far from some smaller prettier beaches on the south west part of the island. There are also some lovely walks through protected pine forests and the aroma is like being in a sauna without the extreme heat.
On the downside the restaurant is in a pink boutique style and lacks charm, the food is more European than local but is of good quality.

At first glance, this hotel is a gem. Good location near koukounaries beach, lovely decor, nice places to eat nearby. Our room (a double) was beautiful with the exception of the glass door to the bathroom sans locking/closing mechanism. I guess it's meant to be modern, I'd prefer the privacy of a proper door. The food and drinks at the mandraki are quite good, though don't bother asking what the fish of the day is as your server will stomp off in a huff at the request to ask the chef. The answer is swordfish, without fail. Bear in mind it's already on the menu. At check-in we were told reception hours are 0700-2400, it also states on their website that the staff are available day and night to take care of your every need. With a 0800 ferry off the island after a 9 day stay, we went to reception just after 0700 to check out. It was locked up. We found a member of kitchen staff, our luggage in hand, stating we needed to check out. She stared at us, utterly annoyed, asking why we hadn't checked out earlier. She called someone on the telephone to come to reception. Our taxi was on the way. She, aware that our ferry was due at 0800, came down to help us at 0740. Ignoring us she opened doors and windows, spoke to a member of staff in a friendly slow way, turned on lamps unnecessarily, and finally sat down, looked at us, and with obvious contempt asked why we hadn't checked out the night before. When our taxi arrived, the receptionist informed us that we'd missed our ferry by now but "you still pay the taxi". 20 euros gone. She told us our tickets wouldn't be exchanged and that the only other ferry available before our flight out of Athens was at 1700, getting in at 0100 after an added 4 hour bus ride. No apology, totally snide. After running our card in he office she told us it wasn't accepted. She told the bar staff preparing breakfast who shared a giggle at our expense. Knowing the card was full up we persisted until it *miraculously* worked. We're now sitting at the hotel bar, 200 euros spent on extra travel arrangements, still without an apology. When we asked her to assist with those arrangements we were told "of course not" by the receptionist and had to take the bus to town to buy more tickets. She was kind enough to let us put our bags behind the couch in the lobby while we did our errand. Unbelievable. For a beautiful place, with some very pleasant members of staff (our housekeeper was so nice!) stuck in with some real jerks, it's a real shame. What a way to end a holiday!

Mandraki Villiage Hotel is a real find. The rooms were really clean and was kept clean throughout our 7 day trip. The staff were really friendly. There was lots of food at breakfast with a lot of variety. There was hot crepes provided at breakfast and throughout the day during some of the days we were there. The bus stop was very very close the the hotel and was very regular. It was very reasonably priced although it got ver full in the evenings. We found a lovely restaurant on our last day called 'The Windmill'. It is positioned up on the hills and therefore offers a beautiful view. I would recommend booking in advance as they get very full. I also recommend a boat trip to Skopoles during which we encountered some beautiful scenery and dolphins.
The decor in the hotel is very bright and vibrant providing a nice feel. The resyaurant next was nice too.
Overall, Mandraki Villiage hotel had a lovely atmoasphere, very clean, great, staff and service and a great pool too. I would definately stay here again if I returned to Skiathos.

I have just returned from a wonderful week long stay at the Mandraki Village. The hotel is beautiful and set in lovely gardens. The staff were very friendly and could not be more accommodating. The breakfast was lovely with a good choice to suit everyone. The rooms were beautiful with fresh towels daily and gorgeous complimentary toiletries and slippers. Definitely the best accommodation I have ever stayed in in Greece. There was nothing missing. I will definitely be going back next year!

We ate at the hotel restaurant a couple of times during the week and have to say the food was absolutely fantastic and can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Skiathos was as lovely as ever (this was my fifth visit). We absolutely love this island and can't imagine that we will ever get tired of going there!

We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived at the Mandraki Village. Vaso, the receptionist was lovely, showed us to our room and was happy to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. The hotel is on the main road, set back from the road in beautiful gardens that were maintained every day. The traffic noise is minimal and unless you're a resident of Ambridge I can't see that this would be a problem!
The hotel itself is boutique style and immaculately kept, from the reception, bar, gardens and restaurant to the bedrooms. We had a junior suite (708) which was cleaned every day and we always got a cheery "Kalimera" from the cleaners when we saw them. Compared to other Greek accommodation I've stayed in the Mandraki really is a step up in terms of design/decor and it was such a relaxed, peaceful to stay, their website really does accurately reflect the style and layout of the hotel.
We really enjoyed the breakfasts at the hotel, plenty of choice and availability. True the same things were available every day but there was enough choice to have something different. The staff were very attentive and quickly replaced anything than was running low. The hotel restaurant Elias was excellent, well worth a visit (we went twice) and Franco the maitre d’ in particular was great (as well as being a genial presence around the hotel during the day), giving wine and menu recommendations with a winning smile! There are also a number of restaurants/tavernas near the Mandraki so plenty of choice if you prefer not to venture into Skiathos town after a busy day sunbathing! The Strofilia restaurant was another favourite. We also went to the Stamelos bar most nights, nice place to relax and chill out over a few drinks and listen to some good music.
Tried Koukanaries beach but found it a bit loud and over crowded. Agia Eleni was lovely, not too crowded and the salads at the first beach bar (without the cushions) were excellent. However, boat trips do stop here so best to wait until the crowds have left before strolling up for lunch.
Skiathos town is well worth a visit (and the bus trip!) there are so many places to eat and drink that it’s best just to wander around and see what’s there. The Windmill restaurant is lovely (although more expensive than most) but probably has the best views of any restaurant I’ve ever been to so is worth the extra money.
We had a wonderful holiday in Skiathos, and staying at the Mandraki Village was a big part of how much we enjoyed our stay. Overall we cannot rate the Mandraki hotel highly enough, the staff are excellent and make every effort to ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible. Quite possibly we benefited from improvements made after the less enjoyable experiences that have been reported previously, however, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Mandraki for a peaceful, stress free holiday.

Have just returned from 2 weeks in this fantastic hotel. This was our 7th visit to Skiathos and this hotel was by far the best we have stayed in.
The staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and very clean and had extras including toiletrys and slippers.
The breakfast was great - a wide choice including cooking omelettes fresh to order.
We attended the weekly barbecue which was fantastic and the restaurant above is definately worth a visit.
The beach is just a short walk across the road through the lake path, making it an ideal location.
Would recommend a visit to this hotel, definatley will be returning!!
