Paid well over the odds for a family room which was actually a room with 3 beds and a camp bed for my 13 year old son. Spoke to the hotel asked to be moved, no other rooms available was given free aircon. After a call to Thomas cook was told to ask rep on availability the morning after. Waste of time he had been warned and dropped into the conversation how he was "as blunt as a brick" didn't get any other accomadation but did pick up gastroenteritis that nearly killed me. Ended up on a drip as just a sip of water wouldn't stay down, had a lovely week laid in the hotel room and not even a how are you from any staff that worked there apart from the lovley cleaning lady. All in all worst week of my life and 2 grand down the drain quite literally. Fuming doesn't even come close to how i am feeling on the the family time lost. We will definitely not be returning. Most people complaining week we visited not sure as to why so many good reviews.

What can I say arrived to see a receptionist not interested photo copied passport said room 122 far end of complex - no info on breakfast or facilities

Room disgustingly dirty beds not made - bathroom full of rust, dirt and damp with all mirrors in the room covered in brown spots

Balcony looked down a dirty lane with our view of a car and silver canopy

Breakfast crap some boring every day and not much of it if you had children you had no chance 2 cereals water melon or bread and butter I doubt they would have eaten the rubber cheese or ham

Pool far to small for the number of people and no where near the number of beds need for this complex

Only good side was the staff where lovely and friendly

Needs a full review and I am very surprised Thomas Cook allow there flag to fly here it would not be me

Me and my partner stayed for 7 nights in June, we had never visited Koukounaries before. We chose Muses hotel for it's no nonsense write up. We were not disappointed. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The bedrooms although fairly basic were very clean, the bathroom was large and well equipped. We had a large balcony with tables and chairs, overlooking the lovely and well kept gardens. Everywhere, including the grounds was spotless. We ate in the restaurant a couple of evenings ( there are plenty of taverners in the area) and the food was freshly cooked and well served. The only disappointment was the breakfast, a bit too basic but we enjoyed it all the same. The beach is close by and we were situated by bus stop 25. Should we ever visit this island in Greece again we will book Muses hotel for sure.

We are a family of four and had two rooms, a double and a twin. We had booked a family room but for some reason a suitable room was not available. This did not cause us a problem as our children are older.

Looking at the photos on Tripadvisor both our rooms had been refurbished and offered comfortable accomodation for our two week holiday. Both had a pleasant balcony/terrace offering views over the well kept hotel grounds. As other reviewers have mentioned, the use of the air con and fridge attracts an additional charge.

We found it best to get to the pool early to have a sun lounger. There is a small garden near the pool that can be also be used for sun loungers but this does not provide any shade from the sun. The covered pool bar and a separate terrace area both overlook the pool and provide respite from the sun. All areas were clean and tidy. A range of snacks are available from the bar and there is also a taverna on site that offers a good choice of meals. All staff were friendly and helpful.

We ate breakfast at the hotel most days. There was a selection of hot and cold options and there was some variation each day but we would have appreciated a little more choice on a daily basis.

There are beaches and tavernas within walking distance and those further away can be reached by the bus or a car. There is a bus stop across the road from the hotel and the bus runs about every 20 minutes. It can be difficult to get a seat if travelling during late afternoon/ early evening. This may be due to people leaving the nearby Koukanaries beach, which is the next stop along after the hotel. Some people walked to the next stop (about 15 minutes walk) to get a seat. When travelling to and from Skiathos town, we found it best to get off and on at the new harbour as this gave the best chance of a seat. It was also a nice walk along the harbour to the town and to the old harbour.

We enjoyed our holiday to Skiathos and the hotel provided comfortable accommodation and good facilities from which to explore the island.

Me and my family just spent 2 lovely weeks at hotel muses, my family had 2 rooms both basic but a decent size. Breakfast is okay with a range of food such as bread, ham and cheese, hot dogs, cereal etc. The bar and pool are clean and decently priced. All areas of the hotel were clean and all staff helpful. Merula, I beileve runs the hotel and restaurant is a lovely lady! Very helpful. The resturant on site we worked out is one of the best in the area, amazing freshly cooked food and great Greek traditional dishes. (The price is good to) my family couldn't find a fault with the hotel or our Thomas cook rep (thomas) lovely guy!
