Stayed for 2 weeks in July. Had a lovely time, accommodation nice & very clean & staff really friendly and food lovely. You got to try the seafood platter and the chicken myrtia. Hoping to return next year with friends. Definately recommend this hotel. We had a brilliant holiday at the myrtia in skiathos. Go and see for yourselves.

We stayed at the Myrtia for two weeks from the 10th july, this is the third year we have returned. It was great to go back and see that the familiar faces were all there. All the staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make your holiday special, the staff at the restaurant, bar and pool work long hours seven days a week and are always smiling and welcoming - especially Vlatco, Charlie, Bibi.
Vangelis and his team are always on hand for any maintenance that need doing and smile and greet you too. We stayed in room 126 which was a downstairs room which was shaded during the day so it was unnessecery to purchase the air con option. The room was cleaned every day with replacement towels and bed sheets. The room kitchen facilities are good and it is possible to cook and eat in regularly but the Myrtia restaurant produces a good choice and quality of dishes and there are also lots of eating places in Koukounaries worth trying, so you may find you eat out quite a bit.
The Myrtia is set back off the road in the pine forest so there is no noise from cars, the only thing that may disturb your sleep could be the owls.
Skiathos is a lovely island, there are plenty of places to walk and loads of beaches to try out, we were surprised how green the island is, and the dog sanctuary is worth a visit. There are numerous boat trips to choose from.
I think most of this has been said before but it is sincerely worth a high rating, we will probably return next year too, finances allowing.
Book early to avoid disapointment.

My friend and I have just spent 2 weeks at Myrtia Holiday Village(10th-24th July 2013). Can honestly say we have the very best holiday. The staff are extremely helpful and great fun. We would like to say a very special thank you to Vlatko, Charlie and Bibi, never a dull moment. Thank you again xxx

Room Tip: All of the rooms are really well located around the complex. All apartments are set amongst a very...

The Myrtia hotel is lovely, our room was comfortable and kept very clean and the pool is a picture, however, unless you put your towels on the sunbeds at 8am you most likely won’t get one for the rest of the day! The food in the restaurant was of a high standard my friend and I ate there on multiple occasions. Our favourite dish was the lamb kleftiko, we definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful time in Skiathos, the only downside was that, even though most of the staff were very friendly, the bar service was very slow and it seemed unorganised. One morning we were waiting for a coffee for over half an hour. It seemed like some guests got special treatment because they had been to the hotel before, which is fine, but frustrating for the rest of us who were staying for the first time, perhaps it was a one off week because the hotel was very busy, and even so the holiday was still very nice.

Before I write anything else, I would just like to say that the staff here at the Myrtia are the best set of people I have ever met in all my travels. From Charlie, V, Bibi and Olivera through to the chefs and the receptionist, every single one of them should be proud of what they have created here. Thank you so much.

Now where to start? The accommodation was spotless, and contained everything you would expect from an apartment in Greece. The location is excellent, and please do not read too much in to the "dirt track" that leads to the hotel. It is wide enough for cars to drive through comfortably and is a pleasant walk. The pool is exceptional and easily the biggest and deepest in the resort. The location is beautiful, surrounded by trees and completely secluded in the middle of paradise.

The pool bar and restaurant is so much more than I have come to expect while travelling. It is the centre piece of the resort, and is one of the best restaurants and kitchens we had the pleasure of eating at. We visited olive land up on the hills of skiathos, restaurants across the harbour in skiathos town, and the food at the Myrtia was 100% as good as any of these other more expensive restaurants. The young chef and the others in the kitchen are superb cooks. The bar staff are all brilliantly friendly and put a huge effort into making every single persons stay as pleasant and as enjoyable as possible. They work long hours, and a lot is asked of them but they never stop smiling and helping! (Although they do look very tired after some nights on the town!) the receptionist Emma, and Charlie the bar manager helped us with arranging taxis from the resort, and even remembered to book them on the days following with no need to remind them. V is the most entertaining young man I have ever seen doing his job, and Bibi and Olivera are very pleasant, beautiful barmaids.

The greek night that the bar staff run on Sundays was very entertaining, as well as the movie nights! They showed mama Mia, dirty dancing and tin tin and all of the staff sing along and get people dancing and clapping, even me, and I usually find that kind of thing cringeworthy!

The hotel cat Matooli is the cutest kitten I have seen across Greece, and he will keep the children and adults alike happy!!

I always like to get out of hotels and see the island, and visit other restaurants - but this is probably the first resort I have ever been to where I would be perfectly happy to eat, drink and play all day and never need to leave the hotel.

Please do not look anywhere else in the resort, if you do not stay here then you will only wish you did. Thank you Charlie and all the other staff!

We returned from Myrtia on 10th July after a two week holiday there. Everybody else has written about how wonderful Myrtia is and how helpful are the staff, and I'm not going to disagree with any. The rooms were kept spotless, the waste baskets emptied daily (even on Sunday).
A few downers!!
First, mosquitoes - seemingly immune to local sprays, candles and electric socket vapourisers; my wife and I spent every night hidden under our sheet and still got bitten! Take plenty of antihistamine creams and tablets.
Second, Koukounaries beach - get down there early to get a sunshade and lounger. The boats come in from elsewhere on Skiathos and the beach gets packed.
Third, the walk to the road and beach - is fine in the morning going to the beach or supermarket, but come late afternoon it becomes a real struggle in the heat. The sun shines right down long stretches of the track.
Fourth, the menus - we went as an extended family with a three year old (who had a whale of a time in the pool and sea), but the only taverna/restaurant that provided a child's menu was the Windmill Restaurant (run by a Scottish lady) above Skiathos Town; other places were very helpful but always provided too much food thus over-facing him.
Fifth, the Greek evening - I, personally, was disappointed in the BBQ meat; some of it was cold.
My wife and I love Skiathos. We're hoping to go back next year and certainly before the rumored new runway!

Room Tip: When you arrive, hot and bothered from the flight, abandoning your luggage to the little trucks, tra...

we have just returned from our 4th holiday to the myrtia and skiathos, a fantastic 14 days,
what more can we add to all the other reviews!
A big thank you to V, Bibi, Charlie and all the other staff for making our holiday so special and fun,
(also a thank you to the legend that is vangelis on reception)
the atmosphere at the myrtia is something special, from the greek night to the movie nights it is allways fun, never rowdy or too loud, the staff are great with people of all ages,
a bonus this year was the free wifi around the pool and rooms not too far from the pool area
great for the ipad/facebook/kindle users amongst us,
the food is great and varied, the accommodation clean and in beautiful surroundings,
talking to people around the bar and pool there seems to be two types, those that have been before and will be coming back (ie us) and those that havn't been before but will be next year!
but it isnt all about the myrtia great though it is, it is about skiathos, stunning beaches, and chilled atmosphere, skiathos town at night is a treat from the luxury yachts moored in the harbor to the
restaurants and good quality shops, jewellery and fashion boutiques, there is never any shouting or loud behavior it is just a chilled out place,
the rest of the small island isnt bad either, we hired a jeep ( a must to get to some beaches!) and explored the north of the island, lots of tracks leading to secluded beaches most with a family run taverna for snacks and drinks, also the panorama restaurant overlooking skiathos town,
kastro, the old city ruins at the very top of the island well worth a visit, too many other places to mention just explore!
we also did the mama mia boat trip to skopelos island, a great day out visiting the locations used in the film, if you do this take the posieden boat as it is the only one which lands on the tiny beach leading to the mama mia church high up on the rocks, a bit of a climb but stunning views from the top,
another must is the water taxi from kookanaries beach to skiathos town and back, a great way to get see the coastline from the sea and quick too,
all in all a perfect holiday ( apart from the pesky mosi bites!)
we did say this might be our last visit as the children are getting older (21 and 18 next year) and we need a new bathroom at home! but judging by the long faces at home the bathroom may have to wait another year!
one last thing if you are thinking of going ( if you have read this far you must be!) book early as the prices do creep up if you leave it and it is pretty much sold out most of the season,
