A few short minutes from the hustle and bustle of the tourist mayhem that is Vassiliki in July, high up on the hill overlooking the bay, is Katerina's Resort. Katerina's and her family will do all they can to make your stay as enjoyable and convenient as possible.

Room Tip: Ocean facing.

We couldn't ask for more from our stay at Katerina Resort. As others have noted, this is a lovely, family-run hotel. A short walk to Vasiliki Beach, this hotel affords gorgeous views and convenience--but also a bit of privacy and respite from the tourist scene at Vasiliki. The rooms are spotless, the views are lovely, the pool is fantastic, and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. Katerina greeted us with a hand-annotated map of Vasiliki on which she noted the best beaches, the best restaurants (here recommendations led us to the best meals we enjoyed in Greece--try I Rachi and Stavros!). She and her family were friendly and attentive. This hotel is a gem.

Room Tip: I found this hotel through booking.com, but I ended up booking directly with the hotel. Katerina answers emails and phone calls promptly. By booking directly, I was able to make more specific requests. Ask for a room with a view! Our children stayed on the third floor, corner room. Their view was even better than ours, which was fantastic.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel in August 2012.
Extremely nice and helpful owners.
The hotel is located quite far from the city center (bit up in the hill), but therefore the view to the open sea was just amazing.
The room was quite nice, very clean, with spacious balcony.
Few details could be better: noisy refrigerator, quite old chairs on the balcony.
Nearby there is a local disco, and one night we couldn't sleep till 3 am, due to the loud music. Don't know how often this occurs!

We had a warm welcome, our hosts giving us a map with the atraction points and their comments about, but first of all Lefkada means you are out there visiting, not staying in the hotel! We booked for one week and we even extended our vacation for one more day and it was not enough. We left without seeing Porto Katsiki beach and not only. Maybe on our next visit... Hotel is decent, good breakfast and perfect panorama. It is a family business and they care about their guests, smiling and friendly. Minor problems with the plumming but who cares... To wake up with such a panorama! What else could you want more?
Perhaps september is the best month to visit - not to hot, not to crowded and not to expensive.

We had a fantastic holiday and that was in part due to the lovely resort of Vassiliki but also our hotel – The Katerina Resort. This really was a lovely family run hotel with a lovely owner who always had a friendly welcome and smile for you. Nothing was ever a problem for them and they were always more than happy to help with any questions or queries you have about the local area.

The rooms are cosy but have everything you need and are always very clean. They have a fridge so you can buy your own drinks although prices at their little bar were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend paying that little bit extra for a room with a sea view as the views from the balcony are fantastic and span across the bay.
Although we didn’t opt for bed and breakfast there were several occasions where the owner would make us a little platter with croissants and pastries and bring it to us when we were by the pool which was a lovely touch.

The pool is very nice. Water is the perfect temperature and the pool is also very clean. The pool and sunbathing area benefits from that lovely view out to sea and across the bay. There aren’t lots of sun loungers but we never had a problem finding empty ones even when we were down late!

Perhaps the only down side to this hotel is its location which is on the side of a hill and a good 20 minute walk into the resort centre however this is a nice walk if you go along the beach (no heels ladies as it is a pebble beach) and there is a flight of stairs that cut down the hillside which makes it easier. We felt that the benefits far outweighed this one minor inconvenience.

The resort itself is very nice. Plenty or restaurants and up market cocktail style bars which all line a pretty little harbour. There are also some lovely souvenir shops although they can be a little pricey. This was the perfect holiday with the perfect resort and hotel!

Room Tip: Sea view rooms and if you are able the higher the better!
