It is a long way from the airport which we hadn't realised when we booked, but the hotel is situated in a very picturesque area surrounded by wildlife. On arrival, we were given one of the newly refurbished rooms which was clean and modern but basic. There was an empty fridge in the room and arriving in the early hours of the morning after many hours of travelling we were desperate for some water. It took the reception well over an hour to get some sent to our room, I think it was 3am! A very poor welcome. The hotel is set in landscaped gardens that are well maintained and had two lovely swimming pools. The hotel is quite remote, going out of season meant that the few bars and restaurants nearby were closed so we were confined to the hotel really until we hired a car. It was lovely to get out and explore Corfu with a car, it is a beautiful island. The roads are a nightmare though...potholes, dust tracks etc. so driving in the dark should be avoided unless you know where you're going! The hotel will make a packed lunch for a small charge if ordered the day before which was a godsend as not many eateries were open. The food in the hotel was fine, there was a good choice and it was good quality food. We left it too late to book our a la carte meal so make sure you book well in advance. None of the staff really bent over backwards for us during our stay, they were efficient but didn't go the extra mile. We had a good holiday and it was excellent value for money but we probably wouldn't return to this hotel.

1, Room was situated in what my husband could only describe as a dungeon.
2, No toiletries, only a cheap dispenser fixed to the wall
3, No WIFI
4, No safe - unless you paid for it
5, Not enough drawer or wardrobe space
6, Dirty floors in bathroom
7, Spiders webs in the corners of the main room
8, Food horrendous, drinks in flimsy plastic cups.
9, Pool cues had no tips and tables were covered in ash or bird pooh
10, Only chicken nuggets on offer for kids. Which were only there for 3 of the 10 days at Mareblue
11, Two pools on offer. But kids cannot use the selfish Adult pool as this is a quiet area for the book reading pool zombies, who do not even seem to use it??
12, Miserable bar staff at the main function area. Do not try to make eye contact as they stare right through you.
13, Of all the hotels we have stayed in the rooms have been cleaned on a daily basis, or at least swept. This did not seem to happen.
14, Kettle was a safety issues. Did not switch off and burnt hand from the steam.

Plus to the holiday.. the Pyramid restaurant is next door and is excellent!!!. Five stars - +++++

Room Tip: Ask for another hotel

We regret to read that we were not able to convince you completely. We apologize for your disappointment and resentment. All extra charges like wifi and safe are clearly stated on the tour operator's site and in the brochure. We attach great value to cleaning and cleanliness, hence we take your comments as an encouragement for improvement. We have noticed your comments regarding the food. The quality and variety of our meals is very important to us. Please rest assured that your comments will be discussed with the respective department heads for enhancement.

This hotel is located far from the cheesy tourist areas, so it is peaceful and relaxing.
We enjoyed lovely views from the very well kept grounds of the hotel and from our room.
The hotel is located beside two lovely beaches but also a nature reserve which has some beautiful hidden beaches - we were often alone on a gorgeous hidden beach. There are a couple of nice restaurants located nearby which serve nice food. As this hotel is out of the way, a bus service connects to the local town and Corfu. The only negative I found with this hotel was the mosquitos due to the nature reserve our room overlooked, easily solved by buying some candles etc.

I stayed at the mareblue with 2 friends and wouldn't hesitate to go back with my kids. Lovely location albeit far from the airport but the journey is nice to see the surroundings. We had asked for a top floor and got the goldfinger block which was near pool and had partial sea view. The room was not one of the refurbished rooms but it did the job and was a place to sleep I wasn't going on holiday to spend the day in the room so didn't bother us much it was clean and thats all I required .. Beds are hard but ok.

I found the food ok your standard European all inclusive. Staff are friendly when you make an effort some holiday makers struggled to smile it seemed. The staff work very long hours. Drinks were great, if you have kids there are drink dispensers for them for by the pool and also ice creams available all day.

Pool was lovely and clean with plenty of sunbeds.

entertainment was funny but mainly because it was a bit corny although the entertainment team were lovely and tried to make everyone join in.

A must is the pyramid bar lovely cocktails and food if you want a bit of a change and not too expensive very reasonable.

The resort is out the way but we went for walks and trips so there are things you can do and also there is a shuttle bus.

Jason at lord travel is very helpful but we did the evening boat trip to corfu town, the water was very choppy i would never do that again cant help the current of the sea lol.

I would defo go back with my kids and husband as there is so much for them to do. My friends and i got back yesterday so was not height of season so could imagine it gets very busy in the height of season.

Please smile its makes all the difference to your holiday and the staff that are looking after you.

Beautiful views, very clean grounds, perfect relaxing holiday for me

Room Tip: ask for sea view top floor email request to hotel 1 week before departure

Mareblue hotel is a lovely, relaxing resort. Spotlessly clean at all times. Lovely designed complex with all accomodation blocks named after James Bond characters. Staff very helpful and friendly at all times. My friend Gail and I(Lorraine) have been to many all inclusive hotels in various countries but the food at Mareblue is best yet. Choice is fab and a la carte & Italian restaurant experience is a must. Met such lovely holidaymakers like ourselves and just wanted to say to Linda & Paul sorry we missed saying goodbye. We did go searching but we've missed each other. Tansfer time is slightly long from airport but the hotel was worth it. I do feel that we may be back. To all you lucky people still to go - enjoy and if you can find fault, then you're not normal.

Room Tip: Ask for seaview room, higher speck than others
