Nice hotel, clean, great pool, great pool bar service, excelent view. Poor food variety at breakfast, lack of sockets and bad artificial lighting in the rooms, hard to find the location at first (no indicators at the main road), small problems with t he wi-fi connection at night. To the last problem I would like to add that there was a rude receptionist (male) whom when I asked if there's again an internet problem he replied and I quote "Am I asking him? He's not a technician! But don't worry tommorow is another day!" - thank you Sir! Overall nice stay at Jason, except for that man who was quite irritating! Please control your staff, nobody appreciates such attitudes.

I have recently returned from a week in Ipsos staying in the Jason Hotel.
On arrival we were very pleased with the appearance of the hotel and friendliness of the staff.Unfortunately thing went down hill when we entered our room No 107 the smell was disgusting we were to discover it was coming from inside the wardrobe which has a pipe running down the inside of it and the ground was badly stained. When I complained a cleaning lady arrived with disinfectant for the toilet even though I explained to the receptionist where the smell was coming from after a few more complaints the receptionist visited the room and agreed the smell was BAD we were told there wouldn't be a free room until wednesday (we booked in on Sunday) to end a long story we stayed one night in the room awake most of the night with the sound of loos flushing through our room after more complaining we were moved to a fresh clean smelling room.
On the plus side the pool area is beautiful Maria at the bar is a lovely girl and the food she prepares is gorgeous reason why i gained 5lb!!! Try the greek pizza its fab.
If you have any back or knee problems you should note there is a very steep hill to climb before reaching this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room on higher level as ground floor rooms have car park outside there porches. Not great fo...

The location is great for a quiet stay. Set back from the strip, up a steep hill. The steps around the back of the hotel are easier to negotiate than the slope. We went at the end of May and there were fire flies all around which was lovely to see.

Rooms are fairly basic, but clean and have a fridge, TV and best of all a power shower. So pretty good for Greece. The walls are very thin though and we had a guy snoring like a trouper in the next room.

Breakfast is very basic. But this wasn't a high priority for us. Everything is cold except the toast that you do yourself. The hot water was tepid at best as was the scrambled egg and beans. The organisation at breakfast could easily be improved to save the queuing. The flow of guests just doesn't work. We regularly went out for coffee and a croissant rather than stay in for breakfast.

Pool bar is fine, but the bar in reception wasn't open and we were not made to feel welcome in there the night we decided it was a bit chilly outside. Which is a shame as this is a lovely area and could be better utilized.

The pool is pretty small, but there were always sunbeds whilst we were there.

Ipsos is a funny resort. Very quiet whilst we were there, but getting ready for an influx. We were told these would be Italian 18-30's. So we were happy we left before the madness began. The sea is beautiful and the views over the bay to Albania and Corfu town. However the beach is pebble and really harsh on the feet. So be sure to take flip flops that you can wear in the sea.

Eating out. Our fav for coffee and croissant or apple pie(more like cake) was Wet. We also enjoyed the Squirrel. We had heard good reviews about Moby Dick. The first meal we had was okay, but the second visit, I had the most amazing mussels I have ever tasted. The dry white wine is also really nice. Zorba's was very good. One of the nicest meals was a picnic on the beach with fresh bread and taramasalata from the supermarket.

We hired a bike for a few days to explore the island and this was really nice.Costs between 15 and 25 euro per day.

Room Tip: we had a mountain view - lovely

We stayed in the Yiannis Hotel in Ipsos and we were very pleased with our choice. Very clean and close to lots of bars restaurants but I did find the entrance hill a bit daunting..until I saw the Jason hotel next door. We were invited to meet some friends who stayed in the Jason but when we saw the hill leading up to the Jason..we promptly gave that a miss!! It was practically perpendicular!! I could neither go up or come down except with transport. I'm a little amazed that other reviewers haven't paid too much attention to this issue.

It is unfortunate that someone staying at another hotel can make a comment about the Hotel Jason. Indeed it does have a steep hill, but those who stay in the hotel are informed of steps leading up to the hotel for those who find the steep hill difficult. This hill is mentioned in all of our colleagues reviews of the hotel. But many guests find this hill a pro to the hotel as they have an incredible view once they come up. Almost all guests tell us that the hill is worth it as they come to paradise when they are at the property .

Have just spent a week at this lovely hotel....hadn't planned to but the hotel we had booked was closed for redecoration! The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating...considering they weren't expecting us! They found us a room and in fact weren't even sure they were going to be paid by the travel company. I hope they were! We really enjoyed our stay despite this and will definitely go back...it was such great value. The breakfast exceeded our expectation and the whole hotel was bright airy and clean. We ate breakfast outside on the terrace with the smell of jasmine drifting by..with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Our room was perfectly adequate..the fridge was a little noisy but once turned down was fine. The views from the balcony were marvellous...sea, mountains, tiny villages and Corfu town in the distance. A short walk took us to the sea front of Ipsos with it's shops restaurants and bars, also the beach where some watersports were available. An evening walk back was shared with lots of fireflies in the grass and fields with owls hooting too. Magic! It's a bit of a steep walk back up the hill to the hotel, but good exercise after eating a meal in one of the taverna's. A swim in the lovely pool and a lounge by the side of it is highly recommended.
All in all..a lovely holiday despite the bad start.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, rooms on the corner get both sea and mountains

Just back from a weeks stay at Hotel Jason...to be fair to the hotel we were placed here we didnt book it (our hotel wasnt open!) in fact we didn't choose this resort either as ipsos is not much of a resort...straight road with bars and shops along beach, no character! The Hotel was clean and the pool area is really nice so we decided on arrival we would stay. Our balcony had a great view of the mountains but never had any sunshine so ask for a room overlooking the sea! The rooms are small, the bathrooms even smaller...the showers are tiny. The towels were only changed once in the week which is disgusting and when we asked for clean towels the just refused to changed the after three days use...thats just not good enough. The breakfast was the same every day and the few pieces of hot food available were on a hot plate with tea light candles underneath...thats not a joke! The pool bar wasn't open til about 11 am some days nearer 12 which is just poor if you are sunbathing at pool and want a drink as they have signs saying you should not bring food or drinks from supermarket. One day it just didnt open so if you wanted food you had to walk the hill into the resort. Thats just not good enough for a property with hotel status...there are no facilities in room to prepare food so again i think this is poor service. The hotel staff were pleasant enough but most questions were followed by a big sigh. The hotel does have a great view out across the water but i would only recommend it if you were travelling around the island and looking for a stop for a night or two. Dont think i would go back!

Room Tip: ask for a sea view!
