Found that hotel occasionally by searching on maps - what hotel to order. And I can say that we won. This is interesting hotel, well recently renovated, built on the big hill, when expensive rooms are on the hill and the all activities are down near central pool, beach and reception/restaurant.
We had Junior Suite rooms with privat pool. It was cool to have own pool (small but nevertheless), especially when children wanna swim after lunch and it is too hot to go to the beach. Very nice view arround on the high hill. Interesting nature and animals like lizards (different multicolor gekkos), grasshoppers, spiders and ets. But the most funny - are the goats and sheeps on the mountain and hill slopes walking to and fro all the day (save the hottest time). Beeeee and meeeee sounds occasionally and smell of them - this is really village feeling.
Very nice rooms with modern furniture and bathroom, 2 TVs and conditioner. Nothing very special but all what we need.
Two strange things - wifi is NOT free even in expensive rooms and in our builging there was NO WIFI at all. Strange. The other strange thing - small safe-lock, which cost money. Why?!
Rooms are clean and staff clean them well everyday (remember to left coin or two as merci)
But in general - food was good (basic meal same all the time plus several different food variants each meal time), staff was friendly. Nice beach with free umbrellas and beach chairs.
Quite green territory (cause hotel is quite old in general, but renovated well as I said).
I can say I like that place, surrounded with Stegna village.
Sea is very clear, rocks are in depth and in different parts of the bay - one can easily find snorkling there interesting. Mostly entrance is sandy (beach is sandy 100%) but some thin line of pebbles and small rocks may be found between deep water and sea shore. But nothing bad and special - no problems for us.
Can recommend for different types of people, couples and families, even huge ones :)

P.S. They have limited access to free WIFI at reception/lobby (about 10-15 guests) so be ready to catch propriate time (for example in the midday or during the meal time (not after) and late evening.
P.P.S We rented a car nearby and used parking on the territory for free - very comfortable.
P.P.P.S. One can find everything you need in the hotel, including sport areas like tennis court or fitness or even SPA. All the day - very good animation. Your children will be happy. Adults are also involved, till the late time at midnight!!

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your recent stay at the Porto Angeli Beach Resort.

We are very happy to read that you were satisfied with all aspects of the resort and that you would recommend us to other holiday makers.

Kindly note the hotel offers free WiFi only in its lobby area as the rest of the network is being outsourced to a third party company and therefore cannot be offered on complimentary basis. Having said that, we had recently installed all the cabling and antennas required and are happy to confirm that all suites now offer WiFi connectivity.

As far as the safe deposit boxes are concerned, please note that most hotels in Greece tend to raise and extra charge for this service and feel sorry if this appeared to be strange to you.

Once again thank you very much for your comments; we will be very happy to welcome you back in our hotel should your future travel plans call for a trip to Rhodes.

Best Regards,
Porto Angeli

My wife and I stayed here in the third week of May 2013. First of all, we were blessed with lovely sunny weather, with temperatures in the mid 70's for the whole week. This, along with the fact that (for all inclusive mass catering) the food was really good, meant that we had a very enjoyable week. At every meal there was a huge variety of food on offer. We ate well all week. Compliments to the chefs!
The resort is made up of about ten separate accommodation blocks with plenty of space between them. The site is attractively laid out on a fairly steep hillside rising up from sea level. We had a Junior Suite in Astra block (room 606) with a private plunge pool. This two room suite was a bit basic and tired - probably not 4 star by uk standards. It was a 300 metre walk from reception up a steep slope which would be a problem for anyone with mobility difficulties. The (massive) plus was that from this part of the site you enjoy a wonderful view of the sea. It was very relaxing to lie by the plunge pool in the warm sun. There were very few UK customers, and the majority of the clients are from Germany and Russia - not a problem at all. The staff were efficient and friendly. The location is a bit isolated - there is not a lot in Stegna other than a few bars and tavernas. The beach is ok - a mixture of sand and quite big stones in the swimming area of the sea which is clean, although it may not be ideal for small children because it gets quite deep just a few yards from edge of the water. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would visit again.

Room Tip: Rooms in Astra block have great views but are reached by a fairly steep walk. We thought it was wort...

Dear Guest,

Thank you ever so much for talking the time to review our hotel on Tripadvisor.

We are very happy to read that overall you enjoyed your stay at the Porto Angeli and would like to thank you for the flattering comments made in regards to the hotel’s cuisine; rest assured that we will relay your comments to our Chef.

Kindly note that the hotel is not recommended to people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users due to the slope involved. Having said that, we would like to take this opportunity though and note that the hotel is rolling out a new service where guests can be transferred to the upper part of the resort via the club car available near the reception.

All traditional style Junior Suites have been designed in a traditional décor as the room type’s name implies and are sorry to note that you felt that the room type was a bit tired. Kindly note that the resort also offers Modern Style Junior Suites and Maisonettes with private pool that all feature modern furnishing.

Thank you also for highlighting our staff members’ friendliness & efficiency; this is highly appreciated by all of us here at the Porto Angeli.

We very much hope that overall you had an enjoyable holiday in our resort and that perhaps you may choose to revisit us should your future travel plans call for a trip to Rhodes.

Best Regards,
Porto Angeli Beach Resort

We stayed here on june, 3 adults and 2 small children ( 3week and 2years). All inclusive.
We choose to book this Maisonette room, and it was absolutely beautifull! It had 2 floor, 2 bath rooms, 2 balconys, 2 double beds, One on each floor. On room there were 2 stone steps and steps to upstairs, we didnt have any problems with kids with these, but some may have.
Own pool on back terrace and absolutely breathtaking sea view. Nice and private. Also room was really tastefully decorated.
This maisonettes stand quite high on the mounten side, and with double strollers it was good exercise to push them up and down every time You went to eat, swim, beach or shopping.
Food was really good, traditional greek food ( yam, what can beat tzatzikis, olives, egg plant and zucchini dishes!) different international food tema every night. Ok, we didn't get any slimmer on this holiday...
Otherwise hotel area was ok. Reception bilding was quite old and little bit bad shape already.but lots of activities for children, good children pools, play ground, every night some kids show. And this hotel was full of familys with young children. Mainly from germany.
Reception everything was writen on germany, this was little bit difficult for us.

Location was perfect for us who seek quiet place. Everything we needed was near, sea, beach, some restaurants and some small shops. Still we rented a car and drived around island. Something I can recommend, views are amazing!
And You can do more shopping on rhodos town. Old town was way too growded for us and our double strollers.

Have to say, service In reception was bad when there were ladies on turn. When You asked something, everything happened so slow. But on the other hand when there were gentlemans, everything went smoothly.

Overall I could go again! With some family and children.
But next time also this Maisonette!

visit th hotel during a Fam trip in May2012, and also earlier in September 2011... The location of the hotel is Perfect, must be one of the best beach's in Rhodes island, the famous other beaches have no hotels next. there is no other resort in the area, the Stegna Village gives an imprestion of privacy and saftey of an old tipical and real Greec fishermans village.

This hotel is nice for a family trip, located nicely in a quiet place. The hotel area is nicely decorated, green trees and flowers. The houses are further apart, so you don't feel like staying in a huge hotel at all. It is cosy. Animations are mainly sports - Zumba, Aquagymnastics, Stretching and Beachvolleyball. There is a kidsclub. The food is variable and good. It will probably taste everyone. The offer of drinks included in the all inclusive is rather limited, but for the given price, this will probably not surprise you. The hotel is clean and nice - someone wrote in a review that it is rather basic - I have travelled to many Greek hotels and for Greece and this category and price, this hotel is actually very nice.
The beach is nice, but small, so it can seem crowded. There are great beaches within 5 km - can be reached by car, bus, boat.

Room Tip: Depends on what you want, Seaview rooms are nice, but further away from the beach and you have to wa...

Awesome hotel with great and friendly staff, excellent and varied food in a nice and silent place of Rodos. Ideal for couples as well as family trips. The hotel was very clean and has a lot to offer. The animation programs are mainly for kids, but we do not follow any animation programs, so it didn't disturb us. The beach is right next to the hotel with a very clean sea. Directly in hotel you can rent cars and motorbikes and there are a lot of travel agents that can offer you any kind of trips. We missed only the offer for diving as we are certified divers and we had to investigate a little bit, but finally got a contact on local diving centre with the help of reception staff. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Family superior room with a sea view - little bit far away from the beach and restaurant, but worth...

We visited this hotel in October; we were surprised the animation was still going on and the diversity and quality of the food was great! you'll need a car, because it's situated on a quiet location. Town is not very busy; great beach though! Will definitely go again someday.

Room Tip: maisonettes in our opinion not worth the extra costs; yes they a pool, but it's tiny.
