we loved it there, 8 days were just way too short!
the room was super nice, it had a decent size balcony and booking a room with sea view is absolutely worth it. the ceiling in the bathroom is a bit low but it's fine, even if you're a bit taller.
everyone there was really friendly and helpful, all our questions were answered very nicely.
the buffet is not as big as you might know it from big hotels but everything was absolutely delicious, good quality and fresh. we arrived really late at night and they had even saved some dinner for us. when we left really early in the morning we got a little breakfast as well :)
there is also free parking.
Wi-Fi was free and pretty fast.

the beach is lovely and wasn't overcrowded when we were there. there is a lovely tavern right at the beach that's it free sun chairs and umbrellas, even if you're not eating there. I would recommend going there for lunch or dinner though, it was very delicious.

there are a few taverns and little shops in town and also busses that frequently go to different places.

I would absolutely go there again, the hotel was perfect and koutsounari is a great spot if you wanna go and explore different places along the south coast or in the eastern part of the county. make sure you get a rental car for a few days as well, it's worth it!

Very nice location for people who would like to enjoy peaceful holidays. We had an appartment with a beatiful view over the olivetrees and the sea. The room was very nicely equipped although the bathroom should be rennovated soon. There was a TV in the room but we didn't even turn it on. The staff are very friendly and helpfull and the food was really good. For breakfast there was a lot of fruit an vegetables (among all other things that are usual). The only thing I didn't like were the eggs sunny side up that were overcoocked. The dinner there were usually only 4 or 5 main dishes (besides salads...) which were different every evening and represented local Cretan food. We enjoyed it very much.
The distance to the beach is about 500m pretty steep downhill / uphill.
I would definitely go to this hotel again.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Koutsounari on Crete, thanks to an outstanding stay at the Aroma Creta Hotel. Set on a hill facing the sea, among olive trees, the ideal location and excellent care by the staff -- tasty food every night and morning -- was the perfect way to experience the southeastern side of this Greek island.

We stayed at aroma end of August and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the super romantic scenery. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff is very friendly and interested to make your stay a pleasant experience. The pool is clean and refreshing, the view amazing and the food satisfactory. We really enjoyed the wine, too. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Just the bathrooms need a bit of renovating, but they are fully functional. You can reach many beautiful beaches located in the area and go to Ierapetra for dinner or drinks, the main city of the district. You do need a car or motorbike though to move around.
