It's interesting that the hotels near Denali NP are for the most part mom-and-pop operations that leave something to be desired. I'm not expecting five-star stuff out there, but something along the lines of a Hampton Inn level would be nice.
This place comes reasonably close to that level. It's owned by Holland America, so we stayed there as part of a package. And, it wasn't bad.
We didn't stay by the main lodge, which was a small issue. The shuttle system wasn't too bad for the most part. That was good, since we had a large hill to climb to get to the lodge. (We did it once. Whew). The rooms were fine.
The food was a little pricey - dinner and box lunch - but that's OK. You're a long way from the food service companies. We had limited dealings with the staff, but had no complaints.
Oh, be sure to cross the street at some point. You'll have a great view of the hotel, the river next to it, and the mountain behind it. There's a good place for pizza over there too.More
