“Great Destination! Will be going again for sure!”
Reviewed May 16, 2012

Me and my wife travelled to the Stella Palace resort on an all inclusive package for the last week in April. We flew with thomas Cook. This was a small getaway vacation for our 3rd wedding anniversary.

We had a fantastic time... The pools were excellent, clean and well maintained with plenty of sun beds... The food was served in a buffet format with so much to choose from every day we always had something different to experience... Staff were very friendly and always ready to help or get you involved with the daily entertainment and activities...

Our room was a pool suite, very spacious with great views.

We would definatley go back!!

went sept 2011! On arrival we were greeted very well, driven to our appt in golf buggy(the guy even gave us a lift home from the bar one night lol). was very clean and tidy. Food was excellent-normally on all inclusive we eat out a few evenings a week-but didn't need to here as was top notch-themed evenings too.Breakfast was supreme and catered for all. Pool area and bars were great, all staff friendly. Only downside was the beach, which was private was small-very very impressed. plenty to do and sea-overall a wonderful holiday.

We had a fabulous fortnight at the Stella Palace in Crete in July 2011 (booked with Thomas Cook). My 10 and 5 year old still talk about it now and it's the only place they want to go this year! Fabulous pool areas and loads of sunbeds (we went out of school holiday tho). The accommodation was perfect - two sleeping areas with partition and door dividing kids room from parents. Cleaned every day, beds made and linen changed so regularly we gave up checking! Friendly bar and restaurant staff. The food was excellent and there was lots of choice every day and plenty of 'speciality' nights; Greek, seafood, steak. If your kids want nuggets and chips every day this in NOT the place for you - kids food was varied and international! Snacks at pool bars (mainly cake and cheese rolls and ice-cream for kids) but food was so good we never needed a snack. Kids World Reps were FAB - we love Jessie Jelly Baby! Family programme reps really friendly and not pushy at all. so many pools to choose from and the small pool for kids with slides etc. This hotel has it's own small beach - on the doorstep. With sunbeds and parasols. A short walk into Analipsi with some lovely tavernas and beach side bars along the way. We took the bus into Hersonnissos a few times. You must do the Horse and Cart trip - you buy tickets on the seafront in Analipsi - and Sara picks you up at 8am for a trip around the lovely countryside and into Old Hersonissos then to her animal rescue centre. She is lovely. If we could get free child place we would go back but this year it's bit too expensive for us!

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the top pool - away from the amphitheatre which does evening entertainment - but...

Gorgeous hotel, gorgeous island, gorgeous holiday.
Anyone who rates this hotel less than a 5 must seriously have ridiculously huge expectations, even then i bet this hotel could meet them.
It was a perfect get away, we were only sorry that we didnt stay for longer. It is a hotel that is out of the way, there arent many places to walk to, but a simple taxi journey gets you into town for all your shopping needs. We booked a jacuzzi/hot tub suite, which is just a jacuzzi bath tub, but the bathroom was gorgeous and the jacuzzi suites are separate from the rest of the complex making them private and well worth the extra money paid. We had a standard room for an hour on our last day, as we didnt fly until 3 in the morning and we agreed that our room was well worth the extra. Rooms we clean, no bugs, no bad holiday smells, amazing food.
Being 20 weeks pregnant when i was at Stella palace, i was worried about food and things i could and couldnt eat. Once i was there and in the buffet dining area there was absolutely nothing to worry about. All food was well presented and ample amounts. There was always fresh omlettes or pancakes being made for breakfast and lovely selections of food being made for lunch and dinner too. There was a great selection that was already laid out and continuously refilled/freshened up.
The only poor thing was the selection of non alcoholic drinks (all fizzy pop which i didnt want to fill up on while pregnant) and my partner drank cocktails at times and found there was only one flavour of cocktail per day, no choice. This was literally the only negative comment i can think of. The greek loved that i was pregnant and took special care and well wished constantly. We had a day trip to Malia too, just during daylight and we loved it. Shopping, food, drinks and Ugg boots were approx £50.00 from a shop there!!
We would love to go back when baby is older!

Room Tip: Book Jacuzzi suite!!

Spent a week at Stella Palace early October, was a little bit worried as I have mixed feelings towards All Inclusive places - they potentially take away the fun of exploring what is outside the hotel complex and prevent people to spend their holiday money within the community (and quality of the buffet food can be questionable). At the same time, it is reassuring not overspending on certain things and this time, due to the group I was with, AI was the best option.
I needed not to worry about anything during my stay. When arriving outside the hotel, I was surprised and slightly disappointed how plain-looking it was - inside it was a totally different story! Big lobby, looking brand new, soothing colours and plenty of seats around. Check-in was straightforward, took under a minute and then we were whisked off in a buggy to our room. Family room was of a good size, sort of 2 bedrooms consisting of king size and 2 single beds. It was well furnished and I never thought anything was missing from it.
Bathroom was exceptionally clean and the maid ensured it stayed that way throughout the week; the maid also took good care of the room and I am really pleased that she did not fold away clothes that were left on chairs and beds etc... I really don't like to feel that they have sterilized the bedroom every day (bathroom YES but I like my little mess on holidays).

Food: Absolutely fantastic for this type of hotel - fresh, tasty and great selection. Everyone should be able to find something for their taste. There were 3 speciality nights during my stay; Greek, Steak and Fish and it was all cooked freshly in front of my eyes. Lunchtime had a little less selection but still very good. Breakfast was among the best I have ever experienced. One little thing though: I witnessed far too much food being wasted due to many guests going berserk on piling on their plates and then leaving most of it - then go for seconds and third helpings. I hate that type of waste and think that hotels should have the right to charge their guests for wasting food.
Staff were exceptionally good and approachable - one in my party has Learning Difficulty and the staff attitude and approach to that individual was great - can't fault them at all. Very attentive in restaurant and Reception helpful.
All the other amenities were generally good but I have a few little comments though: Snooker tables need replacing as were broken and the little plastic cups that drinks at pool bars were just too soft and easy to spill down accidentally.
It is very easy to walk around and just a short walk into Analipsi village where we met some very nice locals and popped into shops. When walking to the beach, try out the little store on your right as they have great souvenirs at a good price.

All in all - fantastic and I would definately go back but only in a group - I think I would go bored on my own in a place like this.

Room Tip: Book a family room, they are great. If you go to bed early, would be a good idea to ask for room fur...

Excellent - Just returned from a weeks stay. Having read some of the reviews prior to departure I was concerned we may have made a mistake. But how wrong can you be. We can only agree and fully support all the good reviews. The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant served good freshly prepared food, something to suit all tastes. The pool and poolside were spotlessly clean. Plenty of sun beds although the pool great but a little cold. This is a 5 star hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Stella Palace

Just returned from stella palace very happy with most things.. rooms a bit on the small side but clean and cosy, beds a wee bit hard .. maids work very hard ...slipper left in room for you .. pool and poolside spotlessly clean... restrant clean food FANTASTIC ... something to suit all tastes. waiter/waitresses cant do anymore to please and help you :) went 13 oct 2011 / to the 20 oct 2011 weather was good one day of rain 72 to 80 .

On the down side this was the end of season and most of the entertainment team were home .When we booked we were told there was a club13 to 15 for my son andrew 13 years old , that thay played wii's xbox play stations ect (( end of season so it was closed)) also the water park was closed (( this was what sold me this holiday ))as my son has autism and this was going to be good for him ... no matter what time of year it is thay sell you a holiday with this or that it should be open not very fair..
