If you have a problem with walking this is not the place to stay. Having asked our travel agent for somewhere close to the beach and restaurants we were advised that the Mythos Studios would be ideal. My husband has a problem walking more than 100-200 yards at a time and especially uphill. Imagine our horror when we were dropped off by the coach as they could not drive right up to our accommodation and we had to walk the last part. We were told it was just a 10 minute walk but it took us about 20-25 minutes. The rain din't help nor did the fact that we were on the 2nd floor with 32 steps up to our room! We were there for 2 weeks. The first week was a real struggle. We like to get out and explore the local area and try out different restaurants. For 7 nights we ended up in the nearest taverna (about 15-20 minutes away) as my husband could not face walking any further having already done 25 minutes each way to go to the beach. There were at least 2 other couples with walking problems. After the first week we hired a car. It was the only way we could get anywhere. There is a wonderful bus service but we had at least a 20 minute walk just to get to the bus. Apart from the location things were not too bad. Pretty basic accommodation but we were not expecting the ritz. The place is run by a man on his own and it seriously lacks a woman's touch. It's the little things that matter susch as no plug in the kitchen sink and the one in the bathroom basin was too small for the hole so water ran out nearly as fast as it ran in. The owner's idea of solving this problem was to buy us a small plastic bowl, about the size of a pet's water bowl, so that my husband could shave without his water disappearing!! The safe would not open and after 3 attempts by the owner with a box full of keys, he gave up. We just had to trust that nothing went missing. Skiathos itself is a small but pretty island and we enjoyed Skiathos Town. We also found a lovely beach bar/ restaurant, once we had the car, at Vromolimnos (near bus stop 13). Apart from the first 2 days the weather was lovely for most of the time. We had a huge tropical storm on our last weekend and within half an hour water was running everywhere a foot deep. 2-3 hours later it all cleared and we were back to sunshine. Overall we enjoyed the holiday but the location of our accommodation was a real big problem so, if you have a walking problem, I would avoid Mythos Studios at Troulos.

We stayed for a week from the 13th June to 21st June 2014. Great place to stay. Just off the beaten track. Very quiet, rooms are very clean and cleaned every day. Stavros runs Mythos resort very well and makes the best pizza. It's about 10 minute pleasant walk to the bars and restaurants. Wifi is available in the bar and we could get it around the pool... Thumbs up all round.

got home today after 2 weeks, Stavros runs a great crew and the room was cleaned daily, pool area always spot on and the most loveable kitten in residence Johnathan who had been abandoned by his mother. Rooms had twin beds a chair a dressing table with stool and a small tv. aircon was 35 euros a week and safe 20 a week. fridge decent size and cutlery plates dishes and bowls provided. good selection of drinks and snacks. pool was lovely but started at 1.7metre in the shallow end. decent sunbeds and shades cant fault it.

only small downside is the "hill" if youre not steady on your feet could be a little exerting.

Ill be back

Stayed here 6th June for 2 weeks.
Excellent resort for this level. Exceptionally clean Pool & rooms.
Stavros and the Staff are very easy going, polite and helpful at all times.
I can understand the bar music may be a problem if your next to it and don't want to stay up late but it was turned down low before midnight and off by 1pm. We stayed in apartment opposite and wasn't a problem !
There are a few mosquitos but the outer doors are louvred with a fine mesh so they cant get in. We took in a plug in unit with mosquito tablets cheap to buy at home or locally in Skiathos.
A little bit off the beaten track, but the location is what makes it appealing as generally it is quiet.
10 minute walk to the local bus stop 20 to get into Skiathos Town or Koukanaries.
Plenty of good Restaurants/Tavernas locally within 10 minutes walk.
Avoid the Greek night at the Beach Taverna, Troulos Beach they brought the Starter and Main Course together ! and not just to our table !!
Another excellent hoiday in Skiathos, would definitely visit the Mythos Resort again !
Many Thanks to Stavros and Staff

Room Tip: If you prefer going to bed early ask for a room away from the Bar. Take a plug in mosquito killer

From start to finish this was a fantastic experience. We were greeted by the owner Stavros who kindly picked us up in his car from our drop off point as it was raining. We were shown to our apartment and our holiday had truly begun. The apartment was spotless and cleaned everyday. The bar and pool area were welcoming, made more so by the cheery, helpful and hard working Stavros and Stevie 'Baby', nothing was too much trouble! The setting was quiet and close to Troulos beach and buses to town, which ran frequently and on time!
We would not hesitate to recommend these apartments if you are looking for a quiet setting within easy reach of all the amenities you may need.
