“Evening wedding Reception - 21 August '12”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

My daughter and her husband to be chose the Salt and Pepper restaurant in Troulos to host their evening wedding reception on 21 August. George and his team laid on a wonderful evening which was enjoyed by everyone in the party and which fully justified all we had been told about the restaurant by my daughter for months beforehand!!!

The buffet was superb, both in content and presentation. A great selection of seafood, meats, pastries and desserts. Copious amounts of wine were supported by a well stocked bar and our thanks go to the young man who ran the bar for his contribution to a great night. We visited the bar on a couple of occasions and found the whole atmosphere of the place so laid back and relaxing.

To George and the team, our thanks for making the evening so special for Ginette and Phil, and hopefully we will see you again when we revisit Skiathos!!

“Food to die for”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

I had mushrooms a la creme as a starter - fabulous and then shrimps as the main course (don't think of shrimps as small, these were massive)

“Excellent food & service”

A beautiful layout with choice of eating inside or out, attention to detail by staff and manager (owner?) was very, very good, food excellent. Don't forget to book in advance.

“Very nice food ... however.”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Having been to this restaurant a couple of times last year, when it first opened, we were looking forward to returning this year. We were not disappointed, the food and table service were very good. We booked the night before, as we learned last year it's best to, and were seated straight away on our arrival. The staff were very attentive, our food came quickly and tasted wonderfully. The price is a tad above what you may pay locally, but given the surroundings, the quality of the food and the service, this can be forgiven.
My 'however' comes at the end of the meal. We asked for the bill and were brought a free dessert which was very kind, but I didn't want one, so I politely refused. The cake was left anyway, which grated on me as I didn't touch it and it seemed so wasteful. The bringing of the bill was then forgotten, even though the left over food was taken away. We sat for 15 minutes with no one coming to check on us, which we found strange as the service prior to this was exemplary. I can only figure there's one waiter for one particular service. Eventually I had to get up and go to the desk and pay. Admittedly the owner was very apologetic, but this tarnished our meal and stopped us going the next week.
So that's why the restaurant gets a 3, otherwise they'd have at least a 4.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

A lovely restaurant serving top quality food. The attentive nature of the staff is of the highest order. The only downside is that due the popularity of the restaurant you may well need to book a table in advance. If you visit Skiathos DO NOT fail to make a visit to Salt & Pepper.
