Tasty food, not very expensive, very helpful staff, amazing view. We had snails, greek stew vegetables, mousaka, paidakia (lamb meet), taramosalata, crispy bread, lamb with herbs. We were 5 adults and these were more than enough. Our choices were of traditional Cretan cuisine. At the beginning they treat you (for free) with bread, olives and Greek beans called Fava and at the end yogurt with bisquite and fruit and of course local raki. It was more than enough. No hidden expenses, no pressure from staff. One last piece of advice:it's worth to call and make a reservation for a table next to the balcony to enjoy the magic sunset of Falasarna Bay.

We came up here for lunch whilst on the beach, amazing little place with great views. They had some great food and a wide variety of options, as a vegan, it’s not always easy for me - so great to have!

The service was really lovely and we were well looked after. It wasn’t too busy and we were able to sit by the edge and see the view.

Definitely would return if we had more time!

We came here for a wonderful meal at the end of a wonderful week in Falasarna. Our hotel was further down the hill and most evening meals we ate there or on the sea front tavernas, but the food, atmosphere and views from this tavernas elevated position made it very special.
The meal began with a selection of free apetizers - local specialities. Had we known this was coming we may have shared a starter, but these had already been ordered and were not only delicious, but generously portioned. For mains I had pork loins with staka - described as a Roux made with sheep&goats milk , tasted like a moulten goats cheese sauce, and my wife hade the lamb with local greens. They were both delicious and would highly recommend.
We shared a Baklava for dessert - warning it is a big piece - as this was one thing my wife really wanted. Possibly the worst dish of the evening in that it was hot on the outside and very cold in the middle - obviously kept in a chiller and given a few minutes in the oven to make the honey runny, probably OK if you take up the optional Ice cream to go with it.
As with many Cretan restaurants though, the desert option was an unneccessary extra as we were then given a small yoghurt based mignardise along with a complimentary Raki to round things off.
Although they have a good wine list we stuck with retsina (fresh and not too resiny) with the starters and a 1/2Ltr of house red with the mains (unspectacular, but good value).
Over all it was a great experience.

The tavern is located on the hill above the Falasarna beach and is easy accesible by car (free parking place available on location).
We had a Cretan salad, Mousaka & Dakos. For drinks we tried freddo capuccino & house wine. Everything was delicious and the sizes more then enough. If you are a salad lover please try the cretan salad. You will be nicely surprised by the plating and the richness of the flavours.
The service was very good, with useful recommandations & attention to details.
The view is amazing so the vest time to visit would be the sunset.
Enjoy!

We spent a week at Falassarna in May/June 2019. We tried several restaurants during our stay but we kept coming back to Spilios! Lovely food (especially the lamb chops, beef Spilios, Cretan salad), great atmosphere, wonderful views and very friendly service. Great complimentary desserts too! Highly recommended.
