“Just Perfect, eco-designed-unwind-cozy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2010

I am going to this area since many years. I am visiting the property every year for a few days. The place is making you feel very cozy and relaxed from the first moment.
The location is Idyllic. The bay of Vourvourou and the Mount Itamos above it are protected by the Natura 2000. The designed rooms of the hotel are comfortable, fresh and hide small surprises. You will sleep in a coco-mat bed...
The Chef of the hotel Andreas, is doing magic. Ask for him, and let him cook for you an inspired dinner, I think its worth it. Do not miss to spent a day to one of the beaches accross the little island. You can hire a little boat from the hotel or near by, and head to Mirsini beach (hawaii), or a small bay that the locals can Blue waters, or swimming pool. Remember to get a picnic basket, and a snorkeling mask.
The bar of the hotel has amazing cocktails try the Mojito, and every Saturday the have live music. If you are lucky you will hear the two guys with the violin and accordion.
Hire a car and ask for directions to kavourotripes (crab halls). Paradise on earth. Small deserted beaches with amazing beauty. In August it might be crowded. Its better to be on a speed boat during that period...
For night life you can get a taxi to N. Marmaras to Molos bar.
Oh and try the therapeutic massage with Giorgos.
And many more that I can't remember at the moment. Ask for the hotel manager.
He can help you with any thing you wish. Very friendly guy.
I wish I was helpful. I might see you there some time, enjoy!

I am very particular with my hotel rooms. The room was immaculate. The bedding was clean & fresh. I felt as if I was sleeping on a cloud. I live in Manhattan where apartments are not very large. The room was very comfortable and roomy. The service was very hospitable. Whatever I wanted they were very accomodating. The spa was extremely relaxing. It was especially fabulous to have the organic bar at the pool. What a life! The open air restaurant was not only delicious but breathtaking. I wish I could take all my vacations here but it is a little far from New York City!

Rooms were spotless, spacious, service very friendly, we felt like home. Both restaurants offer an excellent variety of traditional and modern choices of dishes to satisfy all palates. We felt really welcomed, like home. We experienced the spa treatment and it felt so good with the natural sounds of the beach and birds. Playground kept kids busy and the yoga instructor patiently helped all of us to experience yoga in the nature.

we will definitely go back as soon as possible.

This is the hotel where are twins were conceived 3 years ago, so it's obvously a lucky hotel! We came back for our 7-years-anniversary and it was still as marvellous as we remembered. Great comfortable rooms, with a unique touch of design, a great restaurant, plants, flowers, a modern-shaped swimming pool, the sea - the sun - the cocktails... I couldn't recommend it anymore for anyone wishing to escape the reality and totally relax in a romantic surrounding - but also for (well-behaved, please!) little children, as they can play safely in a green enviroment and enjoy the sea.

The room was luxurious and cozy. Such a peaceful place, close to nature, our little baby was happy there. The chef amazed us with the perfect salads, fresh fish and the best sea spaghetti i have ever tried..Well organized, polite staff, everything in order. The beach called 'karidi' near the hotel 5' by foot, is the most amazing clear blue water & white sand. we had a great time when musicians with violin played famous cinema music and the moon was full and bright. It was the best holiday week. Enjoy..

I had a fantastic week at Ekies with my girlfriend. It's a great place to hang out, with the bar and lounge area literally right on a private beach. From that area of the hotel there are brilliant views of the bay and it's really the perfect place to chat, read a book, sunbathe or swim - almost impossible to feel stressed! Also the food was really very good, including the breakfast, which was so much better than I've experienced elsewhere. Fresh fruits and yogurts, or bacon and eggs, exotic nuts, pastries – I’m sure it’s possible to have a different breakfast every morning if you stayed there for 2 weeks! The staff were friendly and reliable, too, which is always a plus. However, regardless of the quality of the hotel itself, the best thing was how spacious it was and how it was just a nice to place to be, especially when it gets very hot and all you want to do is stay still!

The coastline around Vourvourou is perfect for exploring, and it's easy to find a deserted cove just 10 minutes away down the coastal path. On a clear day you can see Mount Athos across the gulf, which while spectacular to look at, also makes for a great day trip, as you can sail around the peninsular and observe the ancient monasteries while having a beer!

There's a couple of good tavernas a short walk from the hotel, too, which while not providing quite the 5 star level of food at Ekies, do offer an alternative if you're staying for a while. An absolute must, also, is to hire a little boat and explore the archipelago. It’s not cheap, but it’s well worth the price. There are tiny islands with beaches perfect for relaxing or snorkeling, and it’s amazing to just drop anchor and explore the terrain before going for a dip!

I could go on, but overall it's one of the best holidays I've had, and not the most expensive, either. Good value for money, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday (with great swimming) who doesn't want the noise and cramped quarters you often find in other hotels.

I went there last July and I had the best time ever! So I am planning to spend one more week this summer as well. The room was wonderful and there were very smart ideas in the decoration. The restaurant is great so as breakfast. The beach bar is really relaxing. My children were really satisfied because they played all day long in the shallow waters on the beach, at the children's pool and in the afternoon in the playground. My oldest daughter keeps asking me when we are going back again. As I am from Thessaloniki and I know the area, I can tell you there are not many hotels as good as that in Halkidiki!
