Amazing location could not ask for better. Hotel - rooms clean and tidy always had clean towels, we were in block 400, rooms big and airy, bathroom was small but sufficient no complaints, staff at the hotel are amazing and work extremely hard, all the grounds are kept beautiful. All Inclusive - never done this before personally I do not agree with it (local restaurants are cheap and have tasteful amazing food, venture out and enjoy). TUI made this beautiful hotel ALL inclusive and sold it as a family life - so with teenage children that like sports and daytime activities thought this would be a no brainier! Stop right there,NO daytime activities at all, actually the TUI Reps seem to have sucked the life out of this hotel, the only thing there interested in is selling their overrated overpriced trips, book locally much cheaper and support the local village. Spoke to the rep and said they offer kids club, after I told her several times I have teenagers. Hotel have football pitch but nothing is organised by TUI they cant be bothered. Hotel management hands are tied as TUI run the hotel, TUI needs to act on this as its overpriced without the services they are advertising!!!

Room Tip: beach view

We had a fabulous time here last week. Family of 4. Rooms were spotless and spacious with plenty of storage space. 2 balconies- main one was huge and looked onto one of the pools. Bathroom was fine- shower and bath with lovely hot water. Drain hole in floor which bath/ shower overflowed into, but we are used to Greek plumbing and not bothered by it. Pools were brilliant (again spotless) with plenty of room and sun loungers. Never felt crowded.
We have never been all inclusive before, and we were pleasantly surprised. Good variety of food and staff were constantly clearing up and cleaning food and table areas.
Hotel right on beach which is lovely -sandy and shallow sea; and on edge of Alykanas With tavernas, bars and shops. Short walk to Alykes, or horse and carriage ride (some carriages comfier than others!)
Water park (village) worth a visit. We did ticket only through tui rep (cheaper than at park) and took taxi which was more flexible than going on coach.
All in all we had a really lovely week and would definitely go back.
If you have never been to Zante before don’t panic when you’re leaving the airport- it isn’t the prettiest journey- but lovely when you get there!
(Agree bit of plastic overuse in bar areas- always used recycling bins which were dotted about the place)

Hotel is rather modest. Rooms are oldish but food and pools and water park are good. Beach is great. Cleaning is modest. If you go to hotel, request room from new side. Old side is too bad for western people, but may be good for Russians and British..

We have just returned from 11 nights in Alykanas Village and have had a lovely holiday. (2 adults and kids aged 10 & 8).

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful if you choose to chat to them, otherwise they will always have a smile and serve you your drinks / food etc.

The setting is beautiful, right on a lovely beach which is so safe for the kids (shallow really far out, loads of fish to see and feed) and it has a great pool scene - we never struggled to get a couple of sun beds. I would caution though that both our kids soles of their feet burnt badly on the first day, and this has never happened before on a holiday, so swim footwear is advisable to protect sensitive feet.

We had a 2 room suite which was great as it had lots of space, not that you spend much time in your room. It was perfectly adequate with a fridge, kettle and hairdryer. Shower over bath was fine too. Nothing luxurious, but then we weren’t paying for luxury- this is what we expected and worked perfectly. Rooms were cleaned every day (except Sunday) and all in all they were great. The only negative I would say is that the beds are very hard... a little like sleeping on the floor, although this took some getting used to, I have discovered it is actually quite good for my back!!

Food was ok, basic and samey most days. Again much as you would expect for what we had paid. The snack bar by the pool served hotdogs / chips etc 12.30-2.30, these always went down well. However in the resultant I think if you want the best food you need to arrive early to mid service (no later than 8pm) as if you arrived later it wasn’t the best (Lukewarm if I’m being honest). We ate out more often than we had planned to, but this was a nice treat, and there was lots of choice just a short walk into alykanas town.

I would highly recommend The Mill Bar (out to the right on the beach front - fabulous friendly atmosphere, and their Greek night on Fridays is brilliant!) also Mantalena which is a little walk up the main strip for a truly uncompromising Greek meal experience.

All in all I would say Alykanas Village hotel is a good hotel for families with young children, and the resort itself is very family friendly.

Thank you to the staff who work tirelessly to keep us fed, watered (& the place clean if the obscene amount of plastic!)

Happy Holidays!

Thought I’d write a review as most people who are looking forward to their holiday will be wondering what to expect when they arrive.
I’m still on holiday here and it’s fantastic. Both my kids love it here too and you will find that even without the so called entertainment that they make friends and entertain themselves.
Or ..... if like us, enjoy spending the time with your kids playing games with them.
Hotel is superb, views are unreal and the resort is lovely.
Sunbeds aplenty, shower always hot, pressure not like home but that’s expected and food is fine....boring to eat in the same place every night so try the odd local restaurant for a change.
Ignore the negative reviews, relax and rest assured that if you do have a gripe then the staff are on hand to help.
