It was more than we expected, a great welcome by members of staff. Clean and tidy rooms.A clean and well kept pool. Well stocked bar and good breakfast if required. Andy runs a tight ship but with a relaxed holiday she was great.
Only a short walk to the main part of the town and the beach, so you avoid what town noise there is but you cant avoid the early morning get up call from the local cockerel with insomnia
Do pay for the air conditioning and spray for the blasted mozzies, what ever part of the day they get hungry.

we returned to the grapevines again this year 27 may for 2 weeks.we were given a welcome second to none by andi the owner and all our requests were met. throughout the holiday we were treated like family rather than guests. the rooms are typically greece but kept spotless by mimosa . andi is a fantastic cook and does special nights. saturday is the barbeque and dancing and her stifado is most excellent. these are along with the usual all day menu. drinks are good value and quality.the pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds for everyone. the apartments are in a quiet location but close to all the bars and tavernas. thanks andi to you and your family miri mimosa and emy for a fantastic holiday. see you next year .rich and cheryl xxxxxxx

We stayed at the Grapevines a couple of years ago and fell in love with the place, so returned again this year from 13th to 20th May. As soon as we arrived, we were given a warm welcome by Andy and Meera (who took our bags to our room). Grapevines is a very friendly place. It's in a quiet location, just a short stroll from the main resort of Alykanas. The rooms are a good size, and are kept clean, and the pool and bar area is fantastic. We decided to go on the Trainkaki again this time, but opted for the evening "Greek Night" trip on the Saturday evening. Cost is only 19 Euros each and well worth it for the train ride from the Jammin Bar in Alykanas to and from the Taverna, and a four-course meal with wine. It was great fun - and the trip back was lively to say the least (must have been the red wine and ouzo)! We enjoyed our stay at Grapevines so much again that we've decided to come back for another week later in the season. Have a great one Andy, and see you in a few months' time. Lynne & John.

Well what can I say 1st people through the door for 2014, very welcoming hug from Andy and free drinks cannot be bad.
Andy and her team are very attentive and cannot do enough for you, very clean rooms no issues what so ever, and not of a bad size for this type of accommodation. Great location being only a 5 minute stroll form the main town, very nice pool probably one of the best in the area. Very nice bar/snack area, which during the busier part of the year probably would have more atmosphere, but being early season was on the quiet side but that being suited us fine. If you are after a quiet break, with a great location, along with great owner / staff then look no further.
If I was to have a gripe and this is as big as it gets, it would be nice to have a toaster in the room, but this is Greece and as it goes self catering can be quite basic
Would we return then a big definite YES, will be back for another early break soon Andy.
All the best for the year to you and the team.
Baz & Lin.

My husband and I arrived at the Grapevines at the beginning of the season 5 May at 7 am in the morning and were greeted by Meera the handyman/bartender who kindly carried our cases upstairs to our room. We were the second couple to arrive this season and everything was up and running smoothly. We later wandered into Alykanas for an early full English breakfast at the Cozy Corner at 9 am which was delicious. On our return to our accommodation we met Andy the owner who kindly facilitated us swapping rooms as we wanted one with sun on the balcony. The room was spotlessly clean, the shower had a curtain and the views from our balcony were stunning. The cleaner Mimosa came in most days, making the beds, mopping the floors and emptying the bins. Andy cooked us some excellent meals and also held a barbecue on both Saturday nights. The Grapevines is in a quiet spot away from the main road and the bar does not stay open late so overall it was very peaceful. The pool is lovely with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for everyone. The bar prices are very reasonable with soft drinks at one euro each (coke, fanta etc) and for spirits it was buy one get one free. It is about 20 mins walk to the beach all on the flat and there is a bakery a vegetable shop and several supermarkets, bars, tavernas and restaurants on the way. The beaches are amazing and you can walk all the way to Alikes where you can also hire bicycles. Many thanks to Andy and her staff and family for a lovely stay. Definitely to be recommended for couples, families and friends looking for a peaceful holiday in a beautiful spot.

Stayed here self catering. The owner is very attentive and the staff are good. Nice little bar. Clean rooms, good all round. Nice vibe here too. The rooms were a good medium size and it was a comfy sleep. Recommended as a basic accomodation with clean rooms for those that want to spend more time exploring, like me :)

After deciding on a last minute girly get away with my mum (mum 55, me 27) to catch some early pre-season sun in late May, we came across The Grapevines Hotel - and I'm so glad we did! Andy the owner made us welcome as soon as we stepped off the coach. The staff were all friendly, cheerful and helpful in recommending things to do and see. We went on the wine trip on the train to Spiro's vineyard - this is a must, and who needs an excuse to sample some wine! We left laden down with wine and the best olive oil I have tasted. A wonderful scenic way to see the island and see some of the history of the area in the museum. Andy clearly works incredibly hard and takes great pride in the hotel. The staff are wonderful and you can enjoy a peaceful day by the pool, a lovely mezze platter or cocktail or home-cooked specialities in the evening. If you want to venture further, there are heaps of restaurants offering some delicious food and entertainment. We took walk down to some of the more hidden beaches off the beaten track which provided some stunning views. A real find and pleasure to stay. Wonderful people and wonderful holiday, thank you!
