This hotel suppose to be five stars, but the personal is incompetent. The internet does not work and if you have a child you will probably won't get a buster seat because they only have 3 for the entire hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff, made us feel very welcome. Relaxed atmosphere in quality surroundings. Evening buffet meal was plentiful, with several choices, but quality was limited.

just came back from a great week staying at the Cretan Dream Royal Hotel May 2012 . Cannot fault this hotel. The staff are very friendly and courteuos and go out there way to please, a special mention to Irene in the Resturant on her 1st day at the job, she could not be more friendly and helpful and am sure she will be an asset to the hotel in the future (good Luck). Rooms cleaned every day (spotless)we would have no problem in recommending this hotel to anyone who likes a decent hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a suite as high up as possible as all rooms are sea view

We came here in October 2010 and we really liked the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the facilities really clean and the pool area awesome.
The only downside was the food (which wasn't bad, but not to our taste), but we only had dinner once in the hotel, so it wasn't too bad. The breakfast was really good tho.
The location is not really great. Stalos has not much to offer and if you want to go out, you do have to get the bus to Chania or rent a car.
The rooms were very clean and every day we had a new towel design on our bed. The kitchenette in our room was very much appreciated and I loved the huge balcony with sea view.
All in all, we were really happy with the hotel and would recommend it.

This hotel was clean, sheets fresh, beds were fine if a little hard. My daughter slept on a sofa, this was really hard . I don't think I would have been able to sleep on it.
The bathroom was OK not luxurious but OK.
The plus was the little kitchen with a fridge and table.
The maids were very efficient and we loved coming in to a new towel animal or design each afternoon.
The breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, cakes , toast; bread etc etc etc. 10/10.
Unfortunately
The evening mean was terrible. It was buffet style, some of it looked tempting until you tasted it......in the end we ate the Greek salad every night which was good!! We were so disappointed not to find more Greek food on the menu. One night there was a special Greek night with Greek food and dancing, we paid extra for this and felt we were pressurized to do so. The extra payment entitled us to a seat with a view of the dancers. The food was still bad. The second week we refused the offer and were placed inside the restaurant with 3 other couples. This was embarrassing as there were only 3 tables set up in an enormous room and every body filed past us to collect their food. I would just pay if i was in that situation again.
The restaurant staff were exceptional in their kindness and friendly nature.
This was the opposite to the reception who were very unfriendly.
The area was not exciting, but easy enough to get a bus to and from nearby towns.
Chania was fun.
We bought some great bits and pieces from the local shops to take back to Paris......leather goods ............daughter ran out of money on designer hand bag etc.
Be prepared to see sad dogs some of which are injured around the hotel.
I was not prepared for this.
When I was there this made me so sad that once I asked the receptionist to help ( call the vet or an animal organisation) for a small injured terrier which was lying next to our car. I felt helpless and this played on my mind during the holiday. The receptionist was non pulsed and said she would tell the handy man. I am not sure if they just dumped the dog further from the hotel or actually helped it.
All in all a good base to travel around from, lovely swimming pool, good breakfast, and clean a good 3 star but not a 5 star.

We had a week here at the end of September and had a great time.

Our flight in was delayed by Greek air traffic control striking over planned austerity measures and we had to drive in the dark, did not find the hotel map useful and there appeared to be a complete lack of written instructions on their website. We arrived late and had to carry our own luggage to our room which was distant from reception and involved some stairs too. Not an ecouraging start!

That said, overall the hotel is very good with great staff who go that extra mile to make sure you feel welcome. The buffet breakfasts were as you might hope with lots of choice and topped up regularly to ensure freshness. We intended to eat out a few times but found that the quality of the evening buffet meals at least matched the local restaurants and offered better value for money. (Can only assume previous reviewers were either unlucky or perhaps didn't realistically equate cost to quality.)

The only slight reservation was the bedroom which was fine but aruably not 5* quality but the suites in the main part of the hotel appeared to be more in keeping with 5* status.

The staff were great however, particularly in the restaurant and poolside bar. We had reservations about the 'Greek evening' but were glad we went, particularly as the restaurant staff let their hair down and joined in too.

Overall a very enjoyable week which we thought was value for money.

Room Tip: If you can, have one of the suites in the main hotel above reception - and ensure you have a sea vie...

We were very disappointed with the hotel after reading such good reviews. We stayed half board but could not eat the food most nights as at best it was luke warm, mostly cold and very greasy. W|e thought we paid for a sea view suite but were given a room with a view over wasteland and a busy road with a small glimpse of the sea. The room could not be classed as a suite, it was an average size and the third person in our party had to sleep on a sofa (not a pull out sofabed) which was very uncomfortable. The reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, as was the barman. The waiting staff though were very good. The hotel is new and the pool area is lovely but the area is poor with nothing to do and the hotel has nothing to do there. definately not a 5 star. I would not recommend
