This is a lovely place to stay, spacious, well equipped, very homely. The garden's and grounds are lovely.
A few tips we wished we'd known in advance: 1) the road and driveway leading up to the property are very, very steep, and not for the faint hearted. If you are renting a car get one with a decent sized engine, and not the smallest car like ours - I thought we weren't going to make it! Driving generally in Madeira takes a lot of concentration because the roads are so twisty and steep. 2) because the property is so high up (900m) it gets chilly in the evenings during May which meant we couldn't take full advantage of the lovely roof terrace/garden/BBQ area.
