“Hot (s)pot!”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

Very nice place, especially if you had a rainy day. For only 2 € you get clean changing rooms, toilets and some pools with hot water. Be aware, depending on where you are in the pool the water can be quite hot. Be careful also with metallic objects (chains, watches, bracelets, jewels, etc.), the water and its minerals are quite agressive. A place to be!

It is an out door hot spring for bathing ... very soothing relaxing and phsicaly is very theraputic there are 4 different bathing/swiming pools from warm to hotter waters with natural massaging spickets and the pools are for all members of the family with a guard on duty and a gift shop, costs 2 euros to get in very reasonable and also has dress houses and restrooms.

“Natural and Relaxing”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

The natural pools were beautiful and tucked away into a small corner of Furnas. Washrooms were clean, staff was friendly and a guard patrols the area ensuring you don't have to worry too much about your belongings. There's also a nice little shop near the entrance.

As for the pools themselves, once you get over any initial doubts about swimming in the water your stress will melt away. Three different pools offer varying temperatures and depths. Careful though, the iron deposits will turn your bathing suit brown.

“Relax and melt the stress away”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

They are open between 7:00 -23:00 hours. The owners are very attentive to make sure you have everything you need to. The change rooms are clean and well maintained as the garden area around the hot pools. The price is excellent for families to visit. Excellent way to start the day or finish teh day after walking the long trails. I am looking forward to trying it in the winter time when the cool rain shower is coming down and the pools are hot.
