Even though Cacto is a short drive outside Lagos, it's worth the journey especially for it's cosy atmosphere in the winter months. Service and food is good. However my only gripe is the offer of convert and amuse bouche. Both come with a cover charge but this isn't clearly stated when serving at the table. You're given the menu and wine list, offered water and left to ponder. You place your order and shortly after the convert and amuse bouche arrives. On this particular visit the amuse bouche was one calamari ring and a small drop of bottled sweet chilli sauce. Surprised the chef was happy to present this to a customer. Couvert of flavoured butter, hot rolls and olives- delicious. It's only when you receive the bill do you realise there's a charge. When taking your order you should be asked if you would like the couvert, amuse bouche is usually complimentary. .nonetheless everything else about Cacto is wonderful and this certainly won't deter us from visiting again.
