“Weekend break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012

We spent 2 nights here with the Living Social offer. We upgraded our room, which was lovely. Very clean and spacious. The heating temperature can be self regulated and was warm and cosy at this time of year, even for a cold bird like me. We ate at the pub the first night and the meals were delicious. We did not know what to expect with some of the previous reviews but no need for concern. The breakfasts were also good quality and filling. All staff we met were very friendly, helpful and good fun. As real ale drinkers we sampled a large quantity of the local beer! and enjoyed the live band on Saturday night. One member of staff explained the different beers and gave us generous samples. Thank you. We have already passed on the name of the pub to family members.

Stayed for couple of nights b&b with our 13mnth old Boxer dog. we were made very welcome. Our room was perfect, clean & suited our needs (bath was huge!!) The beach is massive and great for a good walk with the dog. The breakfast was lovely.......although lavar bread is a bit of an aquired taste. We ate at the pub both nights (Tuesday was curry night) and the food was plentyful, good value for money and delicious!! And they have a fab selection of local beers. I cant wait ti go back!!!

Dear Tunathecat07,

Thank you writing such a lovely review, we do agree, our rooms are lovely and the area is a fantastic location for guests with dogs. It was lovely meeting the 3 of you and we are very proud you braved the local delicacy 'laver bread', it is an acquired taste but it is rich with goodness.

Our pub serves good quality pub food and the curry night is always popular - all our dishes are made on our premises - it is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed them.

We look forward to your next visit.

Warmest regards

What a great place to stay. Our room was spacious and bathroom quite luxurious. We had pre-ordered flowers and wine which were in our room and the flowers were beautiful. The views across to the bay were amazing and it was a shame to have to close the curtains! We were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived and it felt that nothing would be any trouble for the lady on reception. We only stayed one night, but would be a great centre for exploring the Gower. We were lucky to have dry weather. Hope to return sometime!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have the view we had

The good lady and me purchased a deal on living social. Our room was perfect and the breakie was top class.
Our evening meals were really good and at a cost that provided real value for money.
We managed to have a little fresh air but alas the weather was against us.
Could the managment have done much more? Not really

The male voice choir that entertained us on Sunday night was not advertised and it was great to see them having such a great time themselves

Oh and that Gower Beer wasnt too bad at all

My wife is from Swansea & I look on Swansea as home. We both know the Gower but have not visited for some years. It was delightful to roam around the area we were fortunate as the weather was better than forecast, Our room was superb, a great double bed, (king) excellent bathroom & a short walk from the pub for breakfast & dinner. Prices were very reasonable,\ breakfast was better than dinner. We hope to return next spring, I have a hospital operation to meet before further holiday deals.

Room Tip: If available, a room as close to the pub as possible.

Have recently stayed at the King's Head Inn for the second time and yet again it did not disappoint. The rooms are spacious, huge bed, modern en-suite bathroom and underfloor heating. There is a very useful fridge, great for chilling your own wine or champagne!!! The service was excellent and the breakfast, a delicious and generous plateful, is freshly cooked to order. I would recommend reserving a table for your evening meal as the restaurant gets very busy as Llangennith is a surfing haven! The surrounding area is beautiful and the views of Worms Head are outstanding.

We have just returned from the Kings Head, which we stumbled on by accident while we were visiting the Gower last year, and stopped and had some lunch there.

We have a dog and love walking with her on the many beaches on the Gower Coast, the pet friendly rooms here are of a fantastic standard. A added extra for us was that during the week in off peak times we had 3 nights for the price of 2, which is a great offer.

The staff from reception/reservations, house keeping, bar and restaurant were extremely helpful and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I can not eat wheat or diary products and both of those needs were catered for by the kitchen, which was such a bonus for me.

The food was fabulous from breakfast to dinner, all at a very high standard no matter what we ordered, and it was so nice for me having such a variety to choose from, as sometimes it can be limiting.

We enjoyed our stay so much, that we have already booked another stay for next year and really looking forward to it.
