“Great host, good food, splendid view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

Up a set of steps overlooking the harbour.

It was busy when we arrived so we bagged a table near the front and before all that long people were practically queuing to get in.

The owner, Yannis, had his work cut out (his wife had a bad back, hope she's better now) and was charming with very good English and helpful advice. We had a nice plate of hummous, some good horta, wonderful stuffed peppers and tomatoes, and a magnificent grilled sea bass. At one point I saw a young couple asking for kebabs in pitta done in a certain fashion and Yannis actually advised them that he did not make them in that way, but directed them to an adjacent place: you have to respect honesty and eagerness to please at that level.

Take a look at the brilliant mural covering the wall on the left of the restaurant's interior, depicting the scene as viewed from the harbour.

Complimentary ouzos finished the evening in style. We'll be back.

“bad memories”

we had two meals there. Initially it was good but the second time we found insects in the salad. They said it was not their fault but the bakery's. We did not go again.

“Best view for miles around!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

Run by the very friendly Yiannis & Gesa for quite a few years now, this is one of the best places to eat as part of the Greek experience. The view over the bay is spectacular and the service is always very good. The food is generally very good & very Greek, but avoid the liver (as per the last review). Always reasonably priced and nearly always full, this excellent taverna is supported by the Greeks, the expatriate community and holidaymakers alike. Long may it continue.
