I think it is important to understand the reviewer to see if you are in sinc with his her outlook.I write this as an independent widely travelled mature person travelling with his wife in five star locations. Marias village is not classed five star as it has no swimming pool spa etc.
However the nearest beach is only one hundred metres away and the various villas look over a short flat walk to the sea.
Each villa is ideally located to shelter from the northerly wind. Our detached villa had a fully functioning kitchen with full stove and large frig, air con etc.
Maria and her husband Mateus made it a home away from home.
The little port is lovely and unusually various tavernas sit over the water not across the road.
The town beach and port are litter free as are the narrow streets.
We hope to return next year as our week there was not long enough.
We think this is also an ideal place for young families who seemed very happy with the setting and the gentle sloping sandy beaches.

Room Tip: Ask Maria what you want

We felt like family staying here, in this great, spotless apartment in a gorgeous small complex overlooking the sea. (The photos don't do it justice.) The beach---where many locals come for their daily swim in this phenomenally clear water---is a 3-5 minute stroll away. The town, with its waterfront restaurants and supermarket, is a 5-10 minute stroll. As others have written, Maria and Mathaios are *great* hosts, including the daily treats from their garden. . . or kitchen. (Delicious homemade galaktobureko and moussaka as "treats" from Maria: oh, my!) We didn't have, or feel like we needed a car; we were happy to stay in the lovely village of Aliki for our Paros vacation. Just delightful; we can't wait to return.

We travelled to Naxos and Paros in June with our three children.( 6 years, 4 years and 3 months old) The first week we stayed at Naxos and the second week at Paros at Marias Village, an unforgetable week. Maria and Mathaios are the must wonderful people we have ever met. They made us feel so welcomed. Every day we had fresh fruits from their farm and one night Maria surprised us with the most dilicious homemade moussaka!! The village is very beautiful and well taken cared off. Everything was so fresh and the house was cleaned every day. The view from the veranda was breathtaking and every night we sat with my husband just relaxing and enjoying the sounds of the waves on the beach. Aliki is a very little village so we rent a car for the whole week. It was nice the drive around in the days visiting other beaches etc, but then in the evening return to the peaceful Marias Village. We have been travelling a lot but must say that this is one of the best trips we have ever made, and we are definitely going back..already miss the place..

Maria's Village is our very favorite vacation destination! We have stayed there 3 times (the most recent in April, 2013), and each visit is more wonderful than the last. Mathaios has built a group of the most lovely Cycladic-Paros style villas, each with a porch overlooking their family farm on one side (olive trees, sheep, goats, chickens), and the azure Aegean Sea on the other. Maria and Mathaios are the most welcoming of hosts. You have got to give yourself the treat of sleeping on sun-kissed sheets with the soft Aliki breezes coming in your window. Maria does everything possible to make your visit comfortable and memorable.

We give Maria's Village our gratitude and whole-hearted recommendation!

Jim and Colleen

My wife and I stayed at Maria's Village in one of the 1 bedroom villas with our 8 month daughter in June 2012. To say that Maria and Mathaios couldn't do enough for us is an understatement. From meeting us early in the morning of our stay at the airport right to the end of our holiday we were overwhelmed with how well we were looked after.

The location is perfect, the village of Aliki is a 3 minute short walk or a 10 minute scenic walk away and there are plenty of tavernas and bars to choose from. The closest beach, a 50m walk, was a bit stony this year but, although I've not holidayed in Aliki for 20 years, I remember from my childhood that it can be sandy or stony from year to year. Piso Aliki is always sandy though and is in the village.

Our villa was cleaned everyday with fresh food from their farm provided and their Olive Oil made for amazing Greek Salad. The villa was well appointed and we loved sitting on our verandah sipping Ouzo in the late evening listening to the waves on the beach.

Although we now live in Australia we'll be back!
